Trios likely returning to Fortnite soon

Trios was added back into the Fortnite game files, signifying that it should be returning soon.

Trios was added back into the Fortnite game files, signifying that it should be returning soon.

Competitive Fortnite has now covered all of the different game modes. We had Solos and Duos in the World Cup along with Trios and Squads FNCS competitions.

We’re in the midst of downtime in Season 1, which means there are few competitive opportunities outside of Cash Cups and Hype Nites. Many players are wondering what’s next for competitive Fortnite.

Data miner @iFireMonkey reported that Trios was added to the top of the playlists in the Fortnite API. Naturally, this signifies that it will likely come to the game with the start of Season 2.

It’s unclear whether or not Trios will be the standard format or if we’ll be able to play Arena Trios again. This also raises the question: could we be getting a Trios World Cup?

The Duos World Cup was relatively exciting from a viewership perspective, but the Trios FNCS might have been even better. World Cup Solos is a no-brainer, but the second mode is still up for debate.

Epic Games

Hopefully, the Trios playlist is a sign of things to come for competitive Fortnite. It was a little cleaner than Squads but still gave viewers that big-team feeling.

This mode might not be the most conventional one in Fortnite, but the Trios FNCS got a lot of viewers. Epic may be positioning competitive Fortnite to head into the World Cup 2020 with a Trios competition.

How to use your bare hands as a pickaxe in Fortnite Season 4

Every wanted to smack trees with your bare hands in Fortnite? Now, you can.

Fortnite always has a handful of active glitches – as does nearly every game that provides regular updates. It’s a game of whack-a-mole to some degree; the developers squash one glitch and two more pop up. As a community, all we can hope is that the glitches aren’t game-breaking and don’t affect our enjoyment of Fortnite.

There are a few glitches in the game, right now. Just today, Fortnite players discovered a glitch with the Storm hero ability that allows you to fly around the map for about 20 seconds. Thankfully, however, this and the bulk of the other known glitches that are currently in Fortnite don’t have a drastic effect on who survives a fight.

One glitch, publicized by YouTuber OrangeGuy, is the ideal kind of Fortnite glitch. It has no affect on gameplay but is entertaining to those who use it. The glitch allows you to use your bare hands as a pickaxe.

To complete this glitch, you’ll need to own the Pom Pom or Hulk Hands pickaxes. Epic may add more pickaxes like these, but they’re the only two that will work, for now. After equipping one of these, finishing the glitch is simple. All you need to do is throw up an emoticon and quickly use a throw-able emote. This will remove the pickaxe and let you punch structures for materials with your bare hands.

As the video states, you will fix the glitch if you emote again, but you can always go back by completing the process a second time.

This glitch could stay in the game indefinitely, as it has 0 impact on anything related to competitive integrity. There are almost always bigger fish to fry when it comes to fixing issues in Fortnite. It’s just a fun way to show off to your friends and get them to ask how you did it. Enjoy!

PS5 Fortnite trailer fuels custom kill animation concept

Could customizeable elimination animations be coming in Fortnite Season 5?

Published

Yesterday, September 16, Sony revealed the new PlayStation 5 along with some games that will be coming to the next-gen console. The company also used Fortnite as one of their returning games, showing players the visual enhancements that will come with the PS5.

Some of these improvements may be exclusive to the new PlayStation, but the trailer also showed us a handful of changes that will likely apply to all platforms – not just the PS5.

We touched on a lot of these changes in an article, yesterday, but fans have taken the speculation a step further since the trailer came out. Specifically, Fortnite players zeroed-in on the changed elimination animation that you see in the trailer.

This, along with the update Chug Jug and flame effects, was the central focus of the trailer for a lot of viewers. Clearly, Epic are planning on changing the elimination animations in the future.

Some players are suggesting that this change could point to Epic adding a customizable elimination animation for players.

It would make sense for Epic to add something like this. The more cosmetic options they have, the more money-making opportunities there are. Imagine if the Fortnite Season 5 Battle Pass contained unique kill animations for the first time. Who wouldn’t buy that?

Games like Valorant already have a variation of this feature. Another Epic Games title, Rocket League, has its own version of this as well: customizeable goal animations. This concept is far from confirmed, but it’s a realistic addition for which we can hope.

Storm Superhero ability triggers flying glitch in Fortnite

Storm’s Tornado Launch has a glitch that allows players to fly freely around the Fortnite map.

Fortnite Season 4 brought an interesting twist to the mythic items from the past couple of seasons. Instead of ramped-up versions of existing Fortnite items, Epic gave us unique hero abilities to fit the theme of the season.

What’s more, there is more than one of each hero ability available in a given match. Doctor Doom and Iron Man still require you to eliminate them and grab their abilities, but the Groot, Silver Surfer, and Thor abilities can spawn at every Quinjet landing site.

Fortnite Season 4 Marvel characters

There are also some abilities that are isolated to specific Marvel LTM’s – at least, for now. Venom, She Hulk, Wolverine, Black Panther, and Storm all have abilities in Fortnite, but they’re not in the base game right now. Whether or not they’ll come to core Fortnite modes remains to be seen.

One of these abilities, Storm’s Tornado Launch, has a substantial glitch attached to it that was recently discovered. If you emote before using the ability, your character will start to fly around the map. The mechanic feels a lot like flying in Creative Mode. You will go wherever you point your screen.

Since Storm’s Tornado Launch is only available in Marvel Standoff, the glitch isn’t too useful. You can’t build or use any of your abilities until the glitch wears off, so using it doesn’t give you that much of an advantage. This would be a huge issue if the ability came to the base game, however.

Right now, this is only a fun way to freak people out while playing one of the most casual modes in the Fortnite lineup. It’s worth trying while it’s still in the game. You’ll only be stuck like this for about a minute.

We’re just thankful that this glitch was uncovered in Marvel Standoff rather than after Storm’s Tornado Launch came to core and competitive Fortnite modes. It’s still early in the season, and we expect to see all of the Battle Pass heroes gain abilities in Fortnite. Hopefully, Epic address it if they plan on bringing Storm’s ability to the base game.
