One of YouTube’s live streaming icons, Nicholas ‘NickEh30’ Amyoony, has made a surprising move by signing with Amazon’s Twitch.

Fortnite content creators often look up to NickEh30, who has an insane 4.6 million follower count on YouTube. The Canadian content creator blew up in popularity thanks to Fortnite and his family-friendly content.

Weeks after Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins made the announcement that he was leaving Twitch after 8 years to sign an exclusivity deal with Microsoft’s Mixer, NickEh30 looks to be following in similar fashion.

On August 29, The Hollywood Reporter broke the story that NickEh30 signed an exclusivity deal with Twitch.

Why leave YouTube?

In a statement to THR he said, “I’ve grown and raised a really great community that always has my back.”

The Canadian went on to say that one of the main reasons he committed to this move was due to his audience. “I’m a really big fan of communicating with my audience. With live streaming on Twitch there’s a lot less of a delay because of low latency.”

He also went on to say that part of the reason he moved was to help his growth within the esports community. As a YouTube-exclusive streamer, he was not invited to Twitch Rival tournaments that can offer prize pools with hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Fortnite content on Twitch is ruled by personalities who are not family-friendly, like Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney, where his entire stream is filled with profanity. NickEh30 promises to remain the “goold old, same me” with his family-friendly content.

When will NickEh30 stream on Twitch?

According to his announcement video, his first stream will take place on September 1.

Fans who want to tune in to his return stream on Twitch can return to his original channel, that has a fresh purple checkmark showing his partnership is now in effect.
