This Fortnite setting lets you see enemies hiding in bushes

Bush campers can’t hide, anymore.

Published

on

Bush camping has been a viable strategy since Fortnite first released. For seasons, you’d see players hiding in a bush while waiting for the lobby to thin-out. As players started getting better, bush camping became less and less frequent until it was nearly eliminated by Chapter 1 Season 10.

The release of Chapter 2 reintroduced bush camping, however. Epic added some massive bushes to the new map which allowed entire teams to hide within them. Now, you may even see some bush campers in high-level play. It’s a legitimate strategy, again.

Well, maybe not for too much longer. Fortnite players have discovered that a small settings change will allow you to see enemies when they’re sitting in bushes. Reddit user u/AriesBosch posted a video that showed him playing with the Anti-Aliasing setting turned off, allowing him to distinguish a player from a bush at long-range.

A lot of professional Fortnite players already know about this setting. Turning off Anti-Aliasing allows most players to achieve higher FPS – as is the case with most graphics settings in competitive games. We’re not sure that these players knew about the ability to see players inside of bushes, however.

This setting may have already made its way to the top levels, but mid and lower-level players might not know about it. Sure, your game might not look as impressive as it does with the highest settings, but the enhanced performance and this ability make it well worth the sacrifice.

Bugha becomes the first esports pro to sign with Gary V’s VaynerGaming

Fortnite World Cup solo champion, Kyle ‘Bugha’ Giersdorf, has signed with Gary Vaynerchuk’s agency, VaynerSports.

Fortnite pro, Kyle ‘Bugha’ Giersdorf, became a household name overnight when he took home the first Fortnite World Cup Solos competition in 2019. The relatively unknown pro catapulted to the top of the Twitch charts when he returned home for the event, $3 million richer.

Now, Bugha can add another first to his resume – the first gamer signed to Gary Vaynerchuk’s new esports agency, VaynerGaming. The announcement came on July 14, the same day that the entrepreneur announced his company’s entrance into the gaming space.

In a press release that announced the new venture, Vaynerchuk stated, “I have been quietly paying attention to the gaming industry for over a decade, building relationships and following the trends. One of the most exciting things about it, for me, is the gamers themselves. And when I look at the culture, the interest in the sector from other athletes, artists, celebrities — it is enormous. This is a very significant expansion for VaynerSports.”

Bugha will be the first of many gamers to be represented by VaynerGaming as it expands into this new territory. We can expect some other high-profile signings from Fortnite and other top video games. It’s exciting to see gaming break through to the mainstream in this way, and could mean big things for the future of the Fortnite community.

Epic disable the elusive Golden Mushroom in Fortnite

The Golden Mushroom has reportedly been disabled in all Fortnite modes.

Published

Almost all Fortnite players know about the Mythic Goldfish in Fortnite Chapter 2 – the rarest item that Epic have ever added to the game. It’s so rare that fans wondered if it even existed for a while. Since its release, there’s still only been a handful of recorded sightings of the Mythic Goldfish.

In Season 3, Epic added another rare item to the game: The Golden Mushroom. According to data miners, this mushroom has the same chance to spawn as the Mythic Goldfish, making it one of the rarest items in all of Fortnite. To this day, we’ve only seen one clip of the Golden Mushroom outside of Creative Mode.

When the mushroom first came out, SypherPK put a county on its head. He offered his fans cash if they could find the mushroom in-game, and a bonus if they found it in a joinable Battle Lab match. Here’s the only known clip of the Golden Mushroom in Fortnite.

When Sypher picked it up and put it in his inventory, the Golden Mushroom turned into a regular old mushroom that only healed for five shield. This bug is likely why the item was disabled on July 13, according to data miner reports.

One of the rarest items in Fortnite should offer a reward for finding it. It seemed like this one had an issue that led to it becoming a disappointment. On July 13, Hypex tweeted that Epic pushed a hotfix to disable the Golden Mushroom.

At the time of writing, there’s still no mention of the Golden Mushroom on the Fortnite Community Issues Trello Board. The hunt appears to be stalled – at least, for the time being. We’ll let you know when the Mushroom comes back to Fortnite but, for now, you can stop searching for it.

Fortnite v13.30: what to expect

Fortnite v13.30 is likely headed to Fortnite on July 14. Here’s what to expect.

Published

on

We haven’t had a Fortnite patch in a couple of weeks, but Epic seem to have brought us back to the frequent additions that we saw back in Chapter 1. If this is true, then we can expect a patch on July 14 – barring any delays.

We’re writing this before the patch was announced, but it’s still our best guess. Obviously, we’ll update this post if our prediction ends up being incorrect. Either way, here’s what we’re expecting out of the v13.30 patch.

Bug Fixes

Bug fixes are nearly a weekly occurrence in Fortnite. New patches bring new bugs with them, as players discover the ever-evolving landscape of issues within the game. There seem to be more bugs than ever in Fortnite, right now, but almost all of them are listed as “investigating” on the Fortnite Community Issues Trello Board.

This designation means that these bugs are likely at least one or two weeks away from getting fixed. Right now, the only bugs listed as “Fixed in Next Game Update” are for the Save the World version of the game. Hopefully, with an update imminent, this won’t be the case.

Water Level

We’ll likely see the water level go down, yet again, when the update is introduced. Recently, we learned that cars were set to enter Fortnite on July 21. If Epic want the roads to be clear, then we’re going to need a weekly lowering of the water levels.

Data miners have stated that the water levels will lower, again, on July 18 at 3 AM EST. We may see some leaks with this new patch, that point to how the map will look when the water levels go down. This should be the last recession before cars are added – if they come to Fortnite on schedule.

Dragon Shotgun

One thing that we probably won’t see in this patch is the Dragon Shotgun. We heard about this new weapon coming to Fortnite a couple of weeks ago, but it still seemed far away from getting released.

A new shotgun would be awesome to play with, but we’re not expecting to see it for another update or two. Still, it’s worth mentioning, as it is a possibility that it comes in v13.30.

As always, we’ll have you covered with everything you need to know when v13.30 goes live. We’ll have the leaks, patch notes, and any information that slips through the cracks. Make sure to follow us on Twitter @FortniteINTEL to stay up-to-date with all of the latest Fortnite news.
