This alternate ending to Fortnite Chapter 1 is the tribute we’ve been waiting for.
We’ve been playing Fortnite Chapter 2 for nearly two months, now, with another two before the Chapter 2 Season 2 release. Chapter 2 was a breath of fresh air and the restart that Fortnite needed to remain on top of the gaming world.
Epic made some drastic and much-needed changes to Fortnite with the release of Chapter 2, leading to a resurgence in the player base and a reinvigorated enthusiasm for the game.

Now, two months and almost no changes later, Fortnite is beginning to feel a bit stale. Epic is taking it slow this season. This strategy is a good thing in many respects, but it’s a stark contrast from the weekly updates to which we became accustomed.
This time last year we were still into the first week of Season 7. The map had undergone drastic changes and Polar Peak hadn’t even started to melt. We were all high on a new season and Fortnite seemed unstoppable.
Nostalgia is always strongest around the holidays, which means it’s a perfect time to look back at the first chapter of Fortnite. Reddit user u/Clinisk posted a Chapter 1 recap entitled, ‘This how I hoped The End event would end, just a nice send off to Chapter 1.’
The edit works a bit like an end-credit scene. Something like this would’ve been a perfect way to give the Fortnite team some time to shine while telling players that this truly was the end.
The video is a five-minute-long tribute to some of the best locations and moments across Fortnite Chapter 1. It’s sad to think that we may never see this map again.
We’re currently waiting on more content to fill out the rest of Chapter 2 Season 1. We’ll probably hear more about the expected changes during the Game Awards tomorrow. For now, we can only wait, theorize, and hope that it’s something big.
