This beloved Fortnite item could be returning soon

Could this fan-favorite item be returning to Fortnite in Season 3?

Published

Fortnite Chapter 2 has been relatively slow in regards to releasing items. This has been, clearly, by design. Epic wanted to bring us back to the barebones Fortnite experience with the release of Chapter 2, and they did just that.

They started picking things up in Season 2 with the release of a few new weapons and items and the return of a few more. Still, it’s far from the weekly updates we were getting back in the days of mid-to-late Chapter 1.

We expect things to pick up even more during Season 3. Epic have a trove of items and weapons that they can bring back to the game, along with some new ideas they undoubtedly have in the tank.

One fan-favorite item that could be coming back is the Shadow Bomb. Competitive Fortnite players, in particular, loved this item as it offers a nearly free rotation in the midst of the late-game chaos. Most fans remember MrSavage’s 200-IQ Shadow Bomb play in the World Cup finals.

Apart from periods of the game when there’s too many rotational items, not many players complained about the Shadow Bombs. They were never one of the core items, but a lot of Fortnite players were sad to see them go.

According to FNBR Leaks, the Shadow Bomb could be returning before Season 2 ends. Epic added it back to the game files in v12.60, which is presumed to be the last major patch of Fortnite Season 2.

The alternative to the return of Shadow Bombs in core modes is its entrance into the Intel in Spy Games. We could see this as an unlockable item in Operation modes, which would put a damper on our excitement.

We could look at Spy Games as a trial run for old items, however. Things like Shield Bubbles, the Heavy Shotgun, and Chug Splashes have all reappeared in Spy Games. Epic could be reviewing user feedback before considering their return to core modes.

We could see the Shadow Bomb return for Fortnite Season 3, as well. It may even have some lore attached to it, following the rumored Doomsday event. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see what happens. For now, Shadow Bomb fans can get excited to see them return to the Fortnite game files.

Fortnite leak teases return of Star Wars Lightsabers

The Star Wars Lightsabers could make a return to Fortnite in the near future according to a notable data miner.

A Fortnite data miner has reported that Epic Games readded the Star Wars Lightsabers into Fortnite’s files after the v19.10 update.

Fortnite has held quite a few Star Wars crossovers, but none as ambitious as the live event in Chapter 2 Season 1. This introduced Lightsaber’s into the loot pool for a short period of time.

They were also available for an even shorter period of time from May 2nd – 5th during Chapter 2 Season 2. Since then, players have eagerly awaited their return.

Now, a Fortnite data miner thinks Lightsabers could return to Fortnite sometime soon due to a change in the game’s files.

Lightsabers may return to Fortnite

Epic Games removes weapon and item data from the files when that item isn’t in use. And when the data is readded to the files, it’s a good indicator players will see their return soon.

Fortnite data miner FN_Assist recently discovered that the data for Lightsabers was added after the most recent update. In a tweet, FN_Assist outlines all of the data that was readded.

They claim that this could mean one of two things. Either Star Wars Lightsabers will return to Fortnite in the near future. Or Epic is working on a weapon based on the lightsaber’s pre-existing mechanics.

If Lightsabers are added to Fortnite, we can expect it to accompany a return of skins and maybe some other Star Wars announcement.

Epic Games usually adds crossover content to promote whoever they are collaborating with. Whether it be a new movie or TV series, the Lightsabers could be used as a promotional tool for new Star Wars content.

Fortnite survey teases crossovers with Nintendo, SpongeBob, and More

Epic Games has sent another survey to select players with a list of potential Fortnite crossovers that it is considering for the game.

Fortnite has issued a number of these surveys in the past asking players for their opinions on a number of things. Surveys have also revealed crossovers and subscription services before their release. Some community-made skins and even the Fortnite Crew Pack have been a part of said surveys.

However, not every teased crossover that appears on a survey makes it into the game. These surveys are used by Epic Games to gauge interest in potential Fortnite crossovers. While some of the characters in Fortnite were on surveys first, such as Gugimon, the majority of the names of the surveys have yet to make it into the game.

That being said, each name on the list is a franchise or character that Epic Games is considering. Notable Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR on Twitter shared the latest surveys from Epic Games. Instead of sharing a full list of potential crossovers, Shiina highlighted some of the most interesting candidates.

The list is sepearated into eight sections: Musical Artists, TV Shows, Video Games, Comics/Manga, Influencers, Movies, Cartoons/Anime, and Video Game Characters. Some highly requested characters such as Naruto, Goku, and more are on the list.

There are also a few left-field candidates such as SpongeBob Squarepants, Luigi from Mario Bros., and Steve from Minecraft. Not included in Shiina’s shortlist is a large number of characters from The Office. While the majority of these crossovers may not make it into the game, it’s fun to imagine Ted Lasso running and gunning on The Island. A full list of potential crossovers can be found below.

Epic Games posted a couple of images to different Fortnite Twitter accounts that could be teasing upcoming content. Here’s everything we know about the new Fortnite alien teasers.

Fortnite Season 7 has been one of the most exciting and dynamic seasons of Chapter 2. Massive updates have been adding game-changing content regularly, which is something players haven’t experience in a while. Epic Games has also returned to teasing content both through social media and in the real world.

These Fortnite alien teasers have created a lot of excitement for Season 7. Now, players have found a few more teasers scattered around the internet that might be hinting at some upcoming content. Here’s what the teasers are showing and what players could expect to see in-game soon.

Fortnite teasers show potential POIs and NPCs

In classic Fortnite fashion, the official Twitter accounts have posted a few teasers for what could be a content update tomorrow. The English Twitter post only included words that hint at Alien ground troops being added to the game. While Alien troops can be found piloting saucers, they have yet to be added like the IO Guards.

However, different Twitter accounts for different regions have also included photos with their teasers. The Fortnite Middle East Twitter posted an image of a massive underground space ship. Players think this could be underneath Coral Castle or Steamy Stacks, and that it might be a new POI.

The official Spanish Fortnite Twitter posted a picture of a giant crop circle. This could also be hinting at another new POI, but it’s hard to say where a crop circle of this size would fit on the map.

Lastly, a Russian-language post from the social network VK was shared by BunkerFn on Twitter. This image showed an IO outpost close to Steamy Stacks with multiple satellite dishes. If these Fortnite alien teasers are actually showing new POIs, players are in for one massive content update.
