As you can see by the clip, the Cube – after weeks of roaming around the Fortnite Battle Royale map – finally reached its destination at Loot Lake, and proceeded to dissolve – or melt – into the lake water.
The cube, regularly nicknamed “Kevin” by fans of the game, then proceeded to spark up the water and turn it purple – eventually giving it a rune pattern all across the lake and making it bouncy when players walk on it.

This was but another real-time event for Fortnite Battle Royale, which has seen host to multiple season-changing events – such as the Missile Launch which began Season 5, or the Meteor Strike which ended Season 3 – it’s yet another thing that makes the game so unique from other titles.

Epic Games, we can’t wait to see what you have in store for us in these upcoming days – the most popular theory being that the Lake will turn into a Volcano by the end of the season. This was backed up by volcano assets being found in the Battle Royale gamemode files.

Either way, we’ll have to wait and see what happens next. Stay tuned for the latest information on the Cube and Loot Lake’s mysterious water.
