Epic Games has updated the current Limited Time Mode on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Sword Fight Squads is now live in Fortnite!
The Sword Fight Limited Time Mode brings the notorious Infinity Blade back to Fortnite in its own contained game mode, as opposed to the game-wide implementation of the past.

The Infinity Blade was an extremely controversial addition to Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode when it was first introduced in December 2018.
Treasure chests contain Epic or better weapons as well as the occasional Infinity Blade! Fight your opponents to find out who is worthy of the Blade… and who is not.
Judging by the presence of the Sword Fight Limited Time Mode, Epic does not want to entirely do away with the Infinity Blade just yet. This seems to be the best course of action to ensure all players are happy.
In mid-December 2018, Epic Games put out an official statement on Twitter announcing that the Infinity Blade would be vaulted. This statement was met with thanks and hate alike from fans who believe it shouldn’t have been added to the game to begin with.
We messed up and rolled out the Infinity Blade overpowered / without good counters, especially in the end game.
The Infinity Blade has been Vaulted and we are re-evaluating our approach to Mythic items.
