Fortnite’s v8.30 update was released and The Baller was left untouched, the word revert wasn’t found, but at least we have this.
A leaked challenge file that was added in v8.30 contains the text “destroy biplanes.”
We don’t have any more context than that. The planes returning could be only in an LTM, but usually, challenges are not relegated exclusively to those modes.
Now that Fortnite finally has Arena Mode for competitive play, the planes may be coming back exclusively to the main game.
But if that is what Epic is planning, why haven’t they done the same thing to The Baller which is causing headaches in Arena Mode?
As the seasons have gone on, I have become less and less confident of what Epic is planning with the future of their game.
At this point, it really feels like all bets are off. Will the World Cup Finals be planes vs. ballers vs. the Infinity Blade vs. Thanos? I have no idea but I’m not ruling it out at this point.
We do know a couple of things from earlier leaks that can help inform us of what the planes will look like this time.
One key new mechanic we can assume will be adding is a fuel meter.
A fuel warning icon was found in the game files back in the v8.00 update and back then I examined how refueling of vehicles could change Fortnite.
With this new leak, it seems most likely that the fuel gauge is tied to the planes. This helps prevent them from just flying around in circles in the late stages of competitive matches.
As with any leak, we verify that it comes from a legit source, but we can’t guarantee that a leak will 100% be in the game at some point. Usually, they are added, but not always.
Fortnite v15.40 leaked skins and cosmetics revealed
Epic Games have revealed the new Fortnite v15.40 update and leakers have already found a bunch of new skins.
Epic Games has dropped patch v15.40 in Fortnite and with it comes a boat load of leaked skins as well as cosmetics.
The latest update brought back one of the game’s older weapons, which had been vaulted for some time, and that’s the Flint Knock pistol.
As the pirate theme died long ago in Chapter 2, the weapon hasn’t been around for much of Chapter 2 – but now it’s back in the loot pool.
As usual, following an update, leakers have been hard at work looking around for any potential teasers for upcoming content. To that point, leaked skins and cosmetics have emerged.
Fortnite v15.40 leaked skins
Before we dive into the individual skins and how they’re going to look in Fortnite, it’s worth noting VastBlast discovered four new bundles are included.
These can be seen below – coming with individual pickaxes, back blings, and more.
On top of that, ShiinaBR revealed how some of the new skins shape up in-game.
Last but not least is the SypherPK Locker Bundle, found by iFireMonkey.
Fortnite v15.40 leaked cosmetics
Here’s the list of new cosmetics leaked, courtesy of HYPEX – one of the game’s most accurate leakers.
As you can see, a number of weapon wraps and other cosmetics are in the works.
Now, it’s only a matter of time before they’re added to the battle royale experience. Which one do you have eyes for? Let us know by tweeting us @FortniteINTEL on Twitter.
Fortnite v15.40 early patch notes: Flint Knock returns, LTMs & more
The “most amazing” Fortnite patch ever has been revealed, and here’s everything that’s included.
Epic Games has confirmed a few key details on Fortnite’s v15.40 update. From all the new content to an exact release time, here’s everything there is to know.
Another week brings us another Fortnite update. Fresh content is always right around the corner in Epic’s battle royale and this latest batch has fans eager to jump back in.
Not only are popular limited time modes back in full force, but a fan favorite weapon is also being unvaulted. Moreover, the game should be smoother than ever thanks to the latest wave of bug fixes.
The February 16 update is finally here but before we get there, here’s everything we know about Fortnite’s 15.40 patch.
Fortnite v15.40 patch downtime
No different from previous weeks, Epic Games has confirmed the exact timing for the next update. Fortnite’s v15.40 patch will be deployed on Tuesday, February 16. Downtime is scheduled to begin at roughly 4AM ET | 10 AM BST | 9 AM UTC.
While the new update brings new content, it will also remove various “unreleased assets are props,” Epic added. This means downtime could be a little longer than usual as the developers overhaul bigger chunks of the game.
However, as a result of these changes, the overall file size of Fortnite should be reduced moving forward.
Fortnite v15.40 patch notes
Epic had teased the return of a popular item. “Blast back with an unvaulted favorite,” they shared in a February 15 tweet.
‘Blast’ points towards something explosive on the way. From the Quad Launcher to Dynamite, there are plenty of explosive options that have been vaulted away for a number of months.
On February 16, once the dust settled on the update, it was revealed that the Flint Knock Pistol was the one returning to battle.
Fortnite leakers have reported that two Hunter portals have been added to the game, potentially lining up two new crossovers for Season 5.
We’ve already seen The Mandalorian, God of War, Halo and others appear during the course of the current season – and ShiinaBR has revealed two more encrypted skins are on the way, too.
Limited Time Modes: Air Royale & Floor is Lava
With Fortnite’s 15.40 update, two LTMs are making a return. Both Air Royale and Floor is Lava will be back for everyone to enjoy.
The first was an extremely popular mode upon release in April 2019. Air Royale loads all players into X4 Stormwing’s until there’s just one survivor left.
Meanwhile, Floor is Lava is the polar opposite. Rather than soaring through the skies, players begin on the ground and have to climb their way up to avoid deadly lava.
Fortnite v15.40 bug fixes
Outside of the new content, Fortnite’s latest patch comes with a number of bug fixes as well. The 15.40 update is expected to fix issues across not only the battle royale, but Save The World and Creative modes too.
Below is a full list of every fix that is expected to go live with the latest Fortnite patch.
- Total Bars appearing as “0” in a match.
- Purple XP Coins disappearing when driven through (without granting XP).
- Matchmaking doesn’t start if unreadied player leaves early.
- Phone Booths do not respect island settings when players change Outfits.
Save the World
- Mythic Lead Survivor portraits appear only as silhouettes.
- Locating a Durrr Burger not counting towards the “Locating: Burger Break!” Ventures quest.
That’s everything there is to know about Fortnite’s 15.40 update for the time being. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as further information becomes available.

Fortnite v15.30 update patch notes: New weapons, Mando’s Bounty LTM & more
Fortnite v15.30 update is live, bringing new weapons and a Mando’s Bounty LTM. So, here are some patch notes for the update.
Epic Games have rolled out their v15.30 update for Fortnite, adding three new exotic weapons to the battle royale as well as a new LTM, and a whole host of new cosmetics.
One thing that has always set Fortnite apart from it’s battle royale rivals are the regular updates that Epic Games roll out. They’ve slowed a bit since the move to Fortnite Chapter 2, but the updates are still welcomed.
On February 2nd, the devs rolled out another decently sized update, adding further to the Hunter’s theme has encapsulated Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 5.
That includes three new weapons, a Mando’s Bounty LTM, as well as a decent number of bug fixes too. So, without any further ado, let’s get into the changes.
New weapons: Burst Quad Launcher, Frozen & Chug Cannon
Keeping with the growing number of exotic weapons in Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 3, Epic Games have added three new weapons – the Burst Quad Launcher, Frozen SMG & Chug Cannon.
Starting with the latter there, as the name suggests, the Chug Cannon works like the Bandage Bazooka where teammates can be healed by the weapon.
The Frozen and Burst Quad Launcher are heavy hitters though. The pair of them will deal some nice damage, 35 and 42 respectively, while the Frozen has an alright reload time of just a shade over two seconds.
Mando’s Bounty LTM
The Mandalorian has also recieved some love in this update. Sadly, the previously rumored cosmetics have not been released, but he has got his own limited-time mode.
“The best hunter in the galaxy wants to prove himself—against you. Challenge other players to see who can score credits the fastest,” the description reads. Take out bounty targets for extra credits and eliminate specially-marked hunters for high-tier loot.
“When the Mandalorian enters the match, he will hunt down the player with the most credits. You can get to the top but can you stay there?”
Fortnite v15.30 bug fixes
Finally, the bug fixes. These can be found on Epic’s Trello board before the update goes live, so we can always get a sense of whats being fixed.
This update has a decent amount of changes for each mode for battle royale, Save the World, and Creative – including the return OG Bear vehicles.
Here is the full list of bug fixes coming in v15.30:
- Difficulty editing Banner with a controller.
- Long loading screen after completing a session on PlayStation/Xbox.
- The Child Back Bling blocking vision when players aim down sights.
- Jumpshot Outfit missing its facial hair.
- Sound effect audio delay.
- Matchmaking doesn’t start if an unreadied player leaves early.
- Receiving damage mid-air when falling inside a car.
- OG Bear vehicle temporarily booted.
- Zero Point healing effect temporarily disabled.
- Game freezing when going to the Compete tab on PlayStation/Xbox.
- Prop holograms become invisible in certain situations for Xbox Creators.
- “Devices” and “Prefabs” tabs swapped when viewing the Creative Inventory.
Save the World
- Locating a Durrr Burger not counting towards the “Locating: Burger Break!” Ventures quest.
- Eliminating Takers not counting towards the “Eliminate: They Came from the Mist” Ventures quest.
Mobile Top Issues
- Motion Axis setting stuck on “Roll” on Nintendo Switch.
- RT/LT Triggers on Xbox Elite controller on Android.
