The esports and streaming world were smashed together on May 20 when a report was released by The Hollywood Reporter detailing Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney’s lawsuit against FaZe Clan, and Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins weighed in on the controversy.
Monday was a crazy day for esports as almost every internet personality, streamer, and esports athlete has commented on the controversy that has formed between FaZe Clan and Tfue.
Ninja also jumped in to give his opinion with a 35-minute video where he live commented on Keemstar’s DramaAlert video featuring an interview of FaZe Clan co-owner Ricky ‘Banks’.
After Dark commentary
The Fortnite star sat down with his stream for an After Dark live-commentary on Keemstar’s interview of FaZe Banks on May 20 giving his opinion on contracts, brand deals, and more.
Ninja first commented stating that even though an 80/20 split favoring the content creator is common in esports and content creation, major personalities like Ninja and Tfue “shouldn’t have to pay 20%”.
“You have the power to go to the companies and say, “look at all of this money and all of these brand deals that are coming in because of who I am. You guy’s don’t deserve 20% of a two million dollar deal.””
He continues on with the video to state that he is being a devil’s advocate by stating that “it is possible that there is money owed that they [FaZe Clan] hasn’t taken yet.”
Ninja assures the chat that he doesn’t think that that is the case, but it is a possibility.
FaZe Clan vs. Tfue
The Fortnite star watches the rest of the video with pauses giving his opinion on the matter and after he finished Keemstar’s video, Ninja sat down with his chat to discuss his side on Tfue’s lawsuit against FaZe.
“I would like to think that if I was in Turner’s situation that I would be thankful. I should be grateful to FaZe.”
Ninja continues with, “However, I still definitely think that there are some things that aren’t being said. We don’t have the actual legal contract in our hands.”
A lot of opinions are being tossed around since Monday’s report was released, but Tfue has yet to officially comment on the situation.
We will keep you up to date on any news regarding Tfue’s lawsuit against FaZe Clan.
