One of the tightest duos in Fortnite, FaZe Clan’s Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff and Ali ‘SypherPK’ Hassan, have a new Trio partner joining their squad.

Season 10 of Fortnite Battle Royale has been dominated by Trio events, with top creators and professionals teaming together to try and earn their spot in the Fortnite Championship Series.

NICKMERCS and SypherPK first decided to add Jimmy ‘HighDistortion’ Moreno as their third, but unfortunately, he decided to retire from competing in Fortnite.

On September 8, the Team SoloMid member announced that he has stepped away from the Trio and that another FaZe Clan member will be filling his spot.

Who is NICKMERCS and Sypher’s new third?

HighDistortion made a Twitter post on September 9 explaining that he was “100% done with competing” while his old Trio would be teaming with FaZe Clan’s Nate Hill.

This new change comes behind a decision to hire a Fortnite coach to help with their gameplay strategies, rotations, and more. Their coach, Hugh ‘Destiny’ Gilmour also helped the Fortnite World Cup Solo winner Kyle ‘Bugha’ Giersdorf.

Nate Hill finished second in the Fortnite Fall Skirmish Series alongside another FaZe Clan member, Trevor ‘Funkbomb’ Siegler, earning them a combined $225,000.

While these adjustments seem to be a step forward for NICKMERCS and SypherPK, we will have to see how they perform throughout the next couple of weeks to see if they are actually improving.
