The brand-new ‘Zapper Trap’ in Fortnite Battle Royale has already been disabled by Epic Games.
Added via the Fortntie v10.20 Content Update on September 3, the ‘Zapper Trap,’ much like its name suggests, electrocutes enemy players that get too close after it has been placed.
However, after the update was released in-game at 8 AM EST, Epic Games revealed that they will be disabling the Zapper Trap at 11 AM EST – just three hours after it was added to Fortnite.
It appears that the issue stems from players being randomly kicked from matches since the launch of the v10.20 Content Update, and the Zapper Trap might be the root of the problem.

As we investigate the issue kicking players from matches, we have temporarily disabled the Zapper Trap. We will provide an update when the Zapper Trap is re-enabled.— Fortnite (@FortniteGame) September 3, 2019
At the time of writing, Epic Games have yet to provide a timeline concerning when the Zapper Trap will be added back to Fortnite Battle Royale. If past issues are anything to go by, we think the Zapper Trap should be added back in a matter of hours.
The Zapper Trap brings a whole new level of combat to Fortnite unlike any other item currently in the game. When deployed, it can be stuck on a building piece and do damage on both sides.
Each pulse does 50 damage in a one tile radius, and opponents only have two seconds before the Zapper Trap fires again.
We will keep you updated regarding the status of the Zapper Trap in Fortnite, and whether or not Epic Games are able to come up with a solid fix.
