With Fortnite’s v9.41 update on July 23, a new sniper was released and thankfully, the insanely powerful Storm Scout Sniper Rifle will be disabled in the World Cup finals according to a posted Discord message.
The latest Fortnite weapon to enter Battle Royale allows players to see the next location of the circle, which clearly gives players who are equipping the firearm an advantage over others.
Players who have qualified for the Fortnite World Cup Finals are fighting for a chance to earn millions of dollars. The winner of the solo event will walk away with $3 million dollars, which is definitely a life-changing amount.
When players aim down their sights with the Storm Scout Sniper Rifle, there is a separate map on the bottom right that shows the location of the next circle. The new weapon can be seen in action thanks to this video by FNBRLeaks.

With the new Storm Scout Sniper Rifle, the weapon could grant players an unfair advantage over others. Qualified players would certainly switch the game’s meta to favor the gun.

Thanks to a post from Team Atlantis’ Dimitri ‘mitr0’ Van de Vrie, we now know that Epic has decided to disable the Storm Scout Sniper Rifle for the World Cup solo and duo events.
According to the image, it looks like an Epic employee posted in the World Cup discord to alert all qualified players of the new information.
As of writing, Epic Games has not officially confirmed that the Storm Scout Rifle will be disabled for the event.
For Epic-run Fortnite events, there is usually a Discord server created to allow all qualified players to communicate with other competitors and staff in order for the tournament to run smoothly.
