This new Fortnite Snowman glitch can greatly increase your FoV for the match.
Competitive Fortnite players have been asking for an FoV (field of view) slider since Epic removed the ‘stretched resolution’ setting from the game. You can hardly go a week without seeing a post or two about it on the r/FortniteCompetitive subreddit.
In the v11.30 update, Epic reintroduced Snowmen to Fortnite with several updated mechanics. You can now build in Snowman form, jump in and out of hiding, and break the snowman to create a powerful snowball that’s been decimating players.
One of the first things that players noticed when they picked up a snowball was the field of view improvement. It brings everything back a bit, making more of the screen visible to you.
This small change to the FoV is what a lot of players have been asking for. All we need is a few inches to see around our characters – a request that doesn’t seem too far-fetched.
Well, one player encountered a glitch that allowed him to exploit the new FoV. He jumped into a snowman, got shot, and entered the new-and-improved FoV.
Reddit user u/PJ-the-second uploaded this clip, showing how he got the improved field-of-view. There isn’t a tutorial attached, but the method you see in the clip should work.
I tested this in Creative Mode and it appears to be situational. You may not get it every time. Still, if you needed another reason to carry a Snowman after the winter update, here it is.
