It has been months since these Limited Time Modes for Fortnite Battle Royale have been leaked and found in the game files – yet we still haven’t seen their addition to the game itself.
Last June, two Limited Time Modes for Fortnite Battle Royale were data-mined in the Season 4 files and were presumed to be released into the game during Season 5’s launch. However, months have gone by and we’re a month into Season 6; where are they?
Well, these are the leaked game modes. They may have not been added due to controversy surrounding their objectives and the concept around them. Fortnite is unique from other Battle Royale titles due to its building and gun-play – but these modes were designed to limit or remove building entirely.
Tactics Showdown (AKA “Taxes”)
“This mode encourages tactical combat and building by putting a cap on the amount of resources and ammunition players can carry. Player-built structures also start off with less health than normal, and when players are eliminated they will drop fewer resources than normal.”
Focus on the Fight.
Winning in Tactics Showdown requires careful aim and thoughtful use of building materials
Try using natural cover in order to conserve resources!
Don’t Spray & Spray.
The cap on how much ammo can be carried is lower in this mode – make every shot count!
“In Ground Game, the focus is on fighting smart – Spray & Pray and Build Spamming isn’t an option here. Fewer building materials can be carried and max ammo count is limited, so use the natural cover that the map provides and make every shot count!”
Unfortunately, both of these Limited Time Modes were removed from the files during Patch v5.0.0 along with every other playlist excluding Playground and 50v50. However, Tactics Showdown made a reappearance under the name “Taxes”. It has since been removed.
