Mecha vs Monster Final Showdown event description leaked

On Saturday, July 20, the Fortnite Battle Royale world will be greeted with yet another in-game event when the Polar Peak monster will fight off against the Pressure Plant robot.

At the end of every Battle Royale season, there is typically an in-game event that introduces new additions and upgrades to Fortnite.

Season 8’s unvaulting event temporarily destroyed Retail Row and Tilted Towers while the community voted to unvault the Drum Gun.

On July 17, FortniteMaster leaked the event description for the upcoming event which is rumored to include the Polar Peak monster battling against the robot constructed inside Pressure Plant.

Final Showdown

According to FortniteMaster, the event will be titled “Final Showdown”.

“Initiate Island Defense Protocol.
Emergency hyperfuel jetpacks have been granted.
Take to the skies and find cover on sky platforms.

Saturday, July 20th, 2019 at 2 pm ET”

The event description leads us to believe that players will need to find high ground in order to view the massive fight between the two beasts.

In previous events, players would set up their own safe zones in order to avoid being eliminated early and missing the event. Epic has since created elimination-free lobbies to allow all players to view and enjoy the new reveals.

The post also included a loading screen which features Bunker Jonesy pointing to an illustration of a human-like figure fighting with a monster, giving more proof that the event will feature a huge battle.

Players should be ready to hop into a Battle Royale match on July 20th at around 2 pm ET in order to enjoy the latest in-game Fortnite event.

Do you think the massive battle will happen, or is Epic baiting us? Let us know your theories in the comments!

Lazy Lake fireworks location for Fortnite Captain America challenge

When the Fortnite v13.20 patch released, Epic revealed that they’d be bringing a special hero to the Item Shop for the 4th of July. That hero was later revealed to be none other than Captain America – one of the core Avengers who we never saw during the initial Marvel crossover events.

Captain America is, reportedly, set to hit the Item Shop within the next rotation. He should be available when the Item Shop resets at 8 PM EST on July 2. We’re only hours away from having Cap in our locker, and he’ll probably be one of the most popular skins for the next week.

As you can see, there have already been plenty of official teasers for Captain America, but one of them went under the radar. When the Week 3 Challenges went live, Epic added a daily challenge that requires you to light fireworks around Lazy Lake. These fireworks explode to show the Captain America shield.

There are six firework locations surrounding this POI, but you only need five to complete the challenge. You can easily finish this challenge in a single game of Team Rumble once you know where to look. Here are all of the firework locations.

This challenge rewards players with 14,000 XP as it’s one of the golden daily challenges rather than a weekly challenge. That isn’t a ton of experience, but it’s a healthy reward for a challenge that will only take a few minuted to complete. Now, all that’s left is to see how the new Fortnite Captain America skin looks!

This concept brings grilling to Fortnite in time for summer

This thematic addition to Fortnite Season 3 is perfect for Summer Splash.

Fortnite Season 3 has put a new emphasis on food. Vegetable boxes spawn all across the map while players farm for cabbage and corn as a new way to heal. Most players are fans of this change. The more healing items in the game, the better.

Why stop there? Why not allow us to cook our food for additional HP? Well, one Fortnite player made a concept that allows us to do just that. Reddit user u/MapleSmoothie created a Hot Dog concept. You can find them in fridges and eat them raw, or grill them for greater healing power.

This concept, as its creator points out, would be a perfect addition to the Summer Splash event. Grilling and summertime go hand in hand, and Epic even have an existing emote to correspond with the mechanic.

We don’t need to stop with hot dogs, either. Epic could allow us to grill corn and add other meats like burgers and sausages. Some of them could even grant shields, allowing you to carry some food versions of Minis and Big Pots.

It’s probably too late for Epic to add this to Season 3. There’s a chance that we could see it next year, however. Epic have always welcomed community concepts with game mechanics and skins. This one would be a small, yet thematic addition that could bring a new element into the game.

How to get your hands on the Golden Mushroom in Fortnite

The Golden Mushroom in Fortnite Season 3 is nearly impossible to find in Battle Royale, but here’s how to get your hands on it.

Fortnite Season 3 has already brought us a few more toys in the patches following its release, with cars and another new shotgun on the horizon. One of the new additions to the game was a Golden Mushroom, which is a rare way to receive 100 shield.

According to data miner Hypex, there is a .001% chance of the mushroom spawning in a given location, which puts it on par with the Mythic Goldfish as one of the rarest items in Fortnite. Finding one of these in a Battle Royale match is going to be a true accomplishment, as intended.

It’s unclear whether or not this mushroom is available in the vegetable boxes around the map, but this would be the only way to get one. All of the natural mushroom spawns are underwater at the time of writing.

Those who are reading this after the water recedes will be able to find the Golden Mushroom in any of the locations that house regular mushrooms. Right now, however, it seems nearly impossible to find one in a real game.

If you’re dedicated to getting your hands on the Golden Mushroom, you can do it in Creative Mode. YouTuber and exploit extraordinaire, OrangeGuy, posted a video that shows you how to get the Golden Mushroom. You can use his map or go through the painstaking process of spawning hundreds of mushrooms in your own map.

The Golden Mushroom is going to be another Mythic Goldfish, so don’t expect to find it in a normal match. 99% of players haven’t found a Mythic Goldfish in three seasons, which was intentional on Epic’s part. If you’re fiending for a Mushroom, you can find it in Creative Mode.
