Kevin the Cube has had an explosive journey in Fortnite Battle Royale since his arrival on August 24, 2018, and now there is a theory that Kevin the Cube might be the centerpiece for another major event.
Season 5’s ending saw the introduction of a mysterious purple cube that would act as a bounce pad but would send players who damage the cube flying in the opposite direction.
The cube, eventually nicknamed Kevin, would travel from Paradise Palms all the way to Loot Lake, and leaving a few impressions along the way. Eventually, the cube dissolved into the lake turning the water into a bouncy-like material similar to Kevin.
The butterfly event in Season 6 saw Kevin exploding and creating rifts around the Fortnite Battle Royale map.
Four seasons later, Kevin the cube appeared again underneath the floating island near Fatal Fields.
A leak from popular Fortnite data miner, RiftFNBR, hints that Kevin the cube my crack open again.
Looks like the cube will be cracking over the course of the season. If you go into replay mode now, you can see the cube cracked. Here's what it looks like in replay: pic.twitter.com/zog3EQHK93— Rift (@RiftFNBR) September 9, 2019
If players head into Fortnite Battle Royale’s replay mode, they will be able to see Kevin slowly cracking over time.
Season 10 of Fortnite Battle Royale has seen small map changes taking place throughout the season due to Rift Beacons. The Beacons were able to introduce changes to popular POIs like Tilted and Retail Row, along with the addition of Pandora with the crossover between Fortnite and Borderlands 3.
The only way to know if Kevin will trigger an event is to keep an eye out from announcements from Epic via the official Fortnite twitter and the in-game news tracker.
