How to unlock the Predator skin in Fortnite (challenge guide)

Predator is on his way to the Fortnite island. Here’s how to complete all of the related challenges and unlock the free skin.

Predator is coming to Fortnite. Here’s how to complete all of the challenges and unlock the free skin.

After a month of speculation, it seems all but certain that Predator will be the Season 5 secret skin. The v15.20 update revealed a crashed ship in Stealthy Stronghold, which we assume was how Predator got to the island.

Ahead, we’ll provide a guide to some of the more difficult challenges in the Predator questline, as well as give you some information on when you can expect to unlock the presumably free skin

When Will Predator come to Fortnite?

We don’t have any official date of when we can expect Predator to fully enter Fortnite, but our best guess has it on January 19. This is the date when the rest of the Predator challenges unlock, although this could be a placeholder.

We wouldn’t be surprised to see another three challenges become available next week, and the final three after that – putting the release date of the skin on January 26.

Predator challenge guide

Some of the Predator challenges are easier than others. The first challenge, for instance, only requires you to collect Medkits – something you can do on your own without a guide.

Ahead, we’ll give you all of the locations you need to visit for the trickier challenges. We’ll be updating this post as more challenges become available.

Find mysterious pod

The mysterious pod is located in the center of Stealthy Stronghold, as you might expect. A chest spawns in the driver’s seat, which appears to have a 100% spawn rate.

We assume that Predator will be walking around the POI at some point, and could even drop Season 5’s second Mythic weapon or item.

Fortnite Predator Ship

Talk with Beef Boss, Remedy, and Dummy

This one is going to be a bit annoying, as all three of these NPCs have multiple spawn locations. All three can spawn near the Stealthy Stronghold area, which is why they have some information on the ship that crash-landed at the POI.

Finding the three NPCs is going to take some effort, as you could land at Craggy Cliffs and find that Remedy isn’t there.

While you’re at it, you might as well try the Dub shotgun if you haven’t already. Dummy sells it, so you can kill two birds with one stone.

Again, we’ll keep this post updated as more challenges are unlocked. We’ll list any separate articles related to these challenges below.

How to go invisible in Fortnite with Predator Cloak Device

Fortnite cloaking device

Predator has arrived in Fortnite Battle Royale just a week after the character’s ship landed on the island, and he’s brought a brand new weapon – or ability – to the fight.

One of the most sought after abilities in Fortnite, pretty much since Day 1, has been finding ways to turn invisible. Out of sight for enemies, and handing yourself a huge advantage.

In the past, this has been achieved with exploits using previously added invisibility items, or just glitches that make players pretty much impossible to take down.

However, a legitimate way of doing that – for a limited time – is now in the game.

How to use Predator’s Cloak device in Fortnite

The first-look footage of the Predator Cloak Device shows that the process of actually using it is quite simple.

As seen below, in a post from HYPEX, all you have to do is activate it once you have stumbled upon one and you’ll instantly turn invisible.

This is not the first item to be added to Fortnite that turns players invisible, with Shadow Stones appearing in the past, though developers will be hoping the rollout of this ability doesn’t turn out to be as glitchy as those that have came before it.

Cloak Device stats

Not only do we know how it works already, but also the stats for it as well. It lasts 30 seconds and requires a cooldown each time of the same amount, seen below from HYPEX again.

Players can activate this, of course, though we’re now aware the NPC Predator can also do it. This is going to make the character slightly harder to defeat than others.

How to get Fortnite Predator Cloak Device

The Predator Device can be obtained by taking down Predator in-game, much like any other boss the game’s added during Season 5.

After visiting Predator’s location and striking the character down, it will drop the following, as well as ammo and Floppers.

That’s it! Now you know how to use the Predator Cloak Device, and it looks like it’s going to be quite tricky to get one in-game – especially if the NPC is using it to escape your gunfire!

How to visit houses in Slurpy Swamp in the same match

One Fortnite Season 5 Week 7 challenge requires players to visit three houses in Slurpy Swamp in the same map. Here’s where to find them.

The Fortnite Season 5 Week 7 challenges are here. Take a look at where to find houses in Slurpy Swamp.

The Week 7 challenges for Fortnite Season 5 are relatively easy when you compare them to last week’s but there are s7till a couple of challenges that require some searching.

One of these has players looking for houses in Slurpy Swamp. At first glance, this challenge seems relatively easy – until you realize that the Slurpy Swamp POI is filled with factories.

This challenge requires you to leave the main POI and move south – more towards the Flush Factory area. Here are six locations that you can visit. Keep in mind, you only need to go to three of them.

As always, Team Rumble will offer you the best chance of success. Not only will you be relatively undisturbed in your search, but the 100% spawn rate of chests in this mode means you’re guaranteed to walk away with some loot.

You could complete this in any mode, as these houses typically offer a safe place to land. You’ll also have the benefit of free shields from the water surrounding Slurpy Swamp.

We have a full guide for all of these challenges here if you need it. We’ll be back next week with guides for the Week 8 challenges as well.

Epic Games are offering players who sign up for the Fortnite Crew membership a free, exclusive emote for a limited time.

Monthly Crew Pack leaked image

Epic Games is offering players a free emote to go with their Fortnite Crew membership in Fortnite Season 5.

The Fortnite Crew membership is an interesting idea. Players can sign up for the system for $11.99 per month. In return, they receive the Battle Pass, an exclusive cosmetic set, and 1,000 V-Bucks to use as they please.

January 2021 was the second month of the Crew system, and it wasn’t without its speed bumps. Some players logged in on January 1 to see that their Green Arrow skin pack was nowhere to be found.

Even more players had to wait over 2 weeks to receive their V-Bucks for the month. The system is still new, but it’s clear that Epic have some polishing to do.

As a way to throw Fortnite Crew members a bone, Epic are offering a free “Members Only” emote to anyone who signs up for the Crew pack.

You need to sign up for a Fortnite Crew membership and log into Fortnite before February 15. This timing means that non-members can wait and see what the February cosmetic pack holds before committing.

The Crew membership, when it’s working, is a good deal for dedicated Fortnite players who want to get the most bang for their buck. An exclusive skin, pickaxe, back bling, and 1,000 V-Bucks is well worth the $11.99 price tag.

We’ll let you know when we learn more about the February Fortnite Crew pack. Until then, enjoy Season 5.
