How to get the free Surf Strider bundle in Fortnite

Intel has partnered with Fortnite to bring a free Surf Strider bundle to their customers. Here’s how to claim it.

Fortnite is no stranger to platform-specific skin bundles, but it’s no secret that some platforms have gotten more love than others. PlayStation has several exclusive Fortnite skins with more on the way, while Xbox only has one or two.

PC players have been able to unlock some exclusive skins, but only if they have the right hardware. Epic have partnered with companies like Nvidia to offer their customers free Fortnite skins, but AMD never got any love.

This time around, it’s Intel CPU owners on PC who are able to grab an exclusive Fortnite skin. Epic and Intel announced their partnership and a free Surf Strider bundle – including the skin, pickaxe and glider.

As the promotional image says, this bundle is only available for PC players who have Intel Core processors. This means that PC players who have AMD processors are out of luck, in this instance.

Unlocking the bundle is a lot like unlocking all of the other brand-specific Fortnite cosmetics that have come before. You’ll need to visit the Intel website at softwareoffer.intel.com/Bonus, create an account, and link it with your Epic Games account.

From there, the Intel Page will run a test to ensure that your PC is eligible and award you with the skin. Here’s a video from data miner, Hypex, on how to complete the process.

The website appears to be down at the time of writing and seemed to be that way this past weekend, as well – ever since this promotion became widespread news. This is likely because so many Fortnite players are trying to claim their free skin bundle.

The promotion is set to last until February 2021, so you have plenty of time to claim the skin – even if it takes the website a full week to recover. We’ll keep this post updated when the website begins to pick up again.

How to get all seven Fortnite x Batman Zero Point cosmetics

The Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point cosmetics are easier to get than ever now that a hardcover collection can be preordered.

Fortnite batman zero point comics

The Fortnite x Batman Zero Point cosmetics are highly sought after items that can only be obtained using special codes. These codes come with each issue of the Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point comics, but they can be difficult to get ahold of.

On April 14, 2021, Epic Games announced another crossover comic series featuring Fortnite characters, but this time it was with DC. Similar to the Season 4 crossover with Marvel, Fortnite Season 6 features a superhero crossover with DC’s Batman.

In the first issue was released on April 20 and introduced readers to Batman’s newest storyline. Trapped in the same loop as Fortnite’s inhabitants, Batman is forced to set up a temporary Bat Cave. However, Batman will have to solve the mystery of the Zero Point while time resets itself every 22 minutes.

Epic Games revealed that every physical issue would come with a special code that unlocks an exclusive item in Fortnite. While the crossover storyline is a cool addition to the game, most players will be more interested in getting the cosmetics.

The other issues are scheduled to release on May 4, May 18, June 1, June 15, and July 6. Each issue will come with a code, and players who redeem all six codes will get a bonus cosmetic. The seventh being the Armored Batman skin. However, there is an easier way to get the codes rather than hunting for each individual issue.

A hardcover edition that includes every issue of the Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point series is for sale on Amazon. The downside is that it won’t release until September 7. While that may be two months after the final issue of the series releases, the hardcover comes with a single code that will unlock all seven DC-themed cosmetics.

The hardcover is $15.92 USD and is currently up for preorder. This also makes it much cheaper than buying all six issues individually. The cosmetic codes can also be obtained digitally by those who have a DC Universe Infinite subscription. Yet, that will still cost more than purchasing the hardcover book.

When Travis Scott & Marshmello will return to Fortnite’s Item Shop

Travis Scott and Marshmello have been away from Fortnite’s Item Shop for over a year, but they could return sometime soon.

Marshmello Travis Scott Item Shop Fortnite

It’s been over a year since the Travis Scott or Marshmello skins have been in the Fortnite Item Shop, but a recent update hints at their return.

Both Travis Scott and Marshmello were added to Fortnite around the time of their in-game concerts. Marshmello had a smaller live event at the start of 2019, while Travis Scott had a massive in-game experience in April of 2020.

While both of these skins are fan favorites, neither have been featured in Fortnite’s Item Shop in over a year. The Travis Scott skin has been gone for 367 days, and Marshmello has been missing for 641. However, they could be making their return soon.

Data miners are able to make educated guesses on when an item is returning to the shop due to skins being updated with each patch. Fortnite v16.20 updated the Travis Scott set, and the Marshmello set was updated with v16.30.

Other skins were also updated in the v16.30 patch that appeared in Fortnite’s Item Shop shortly after. While some cosmetics are updated to change their appearance or add different styles, the Travis Scott and Marshmello skins haven’t had any physical changes.

Fans speculated that Travis Scott would return on either his skin’s anniversary or on Scott’s birthday. Since the anniversary of when the skin was last available has come and gone, players will have to wait until April 30 to see if Travis Scott will return.

As for Marshmello, there aren’t any solid dates to go off of. The EDM musician could return at the same time as Travis Scott or sometime before v16.40. However, there is no guarantee that Marshmello will return anytime soon.

That being said, it is unusual for Fortnite to update a skin’s API and not have them appear in the shop soon after. A major update for Fortnite is pushed out every two weeks, so it could be presumed that Marshmello will return to the Item Shop before May 10.

Justin Jefferson will be the first-ever NFL player to be featured in Fortnite with the addition of his own Icon Series emote and Locker Bundle.

The Minnesota Vikings’ wide receiver Justin Jefferson is known for celebrating touchdowns with the iconic Griddy Dance. Fortnite players will be able to style on their opponents with the official emote. Fortnite has also taken this crossover one step further by giving Jefferson his own Locker Bundle.

Fortnite has a ton of emotes inspired by viral videos or online trends. There are also various emotes made in collaboration with internet personalities, movies, and other video games. However, specific athletic superstars are just now starting to be featured in Fortnite.

With the addition of pro footballer Neymar Jr., sports icons are finding their place in Fortnite. Now, American football player Justin Jefferson follows Neymar’s lead by blazing a trail for other athletes.

Fortnite announced Jefferson’s crossover emote alongside his official Locker Bundle, which comes with the emote. The bundle also includes the Hit Man outfit and back bling, Weathered Gold pickaxe, Arcade Kid wrap, and Signature Shuffle emote. The bundle and emote will land in Fortnite’s Item Shop on April 28 ahead of the NFL Draft.

The Get Griddy Fortnite emote is a traversal emote, meaning players will be able to move just like Justin Jefferson when he’s cruising into the end zone. It also features the song Right Foot Creep by YoungBoy Never Broke Again.

Despite this crossover featuring Justin Jefferson, Fortnite does note in an official release that the Griddy Dance was created in 2017 by Allen “Griddy” Davis, a former high school football player. Some fans are disappointed that long-time Fortnite fan and NFL wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster wasn’t chosen to be featured.

Regardless, the Justin Jefferson Get Griddy emote will be a very sporty addition to any player’s locker. Adding athletic superstars to Fortnite’s massive roster of crossovers pushes the game one step closer to becoming Donald Mustard’s metaverse.
