In v15.20, Epic Games added a much-requested setting to Fortnite: ‘disable pre-edits.’ Here’s how it works and how to select it.

Finally, after years of Reddit threads, Twitter posts, and pro players begging, Epic added a ‘disable pre-edit’ setting to Fortnite.

Here’s everything you need to know about the new setting, including how it works and where to find it.

What does ‘pre-editing’ mean?

Pre-editing refers to the ability to edit a structure before placing it. The most popular use of pre-edits throughout Fortnite history was a cone/ramp edit when controller players had to use Combat Pro.

Now, however, very few players use pre-edits. Instead, pre-edits offer an obstacle, as they’re almost always completed by mistake. Of course, there are still some niche applications for pre-edits, but most players wanted Epic to add an option to disable these edits.

How to disable pre-edits

You can find the new option under the settings tab (cog wheel) in the start menu. Scroll down to the “Building” section, and you’ll see four options. One of them is the new “Disable Pre-Edit Option.”

If you turn this off, you’ll no longer be able to edit structures before placing them – good news for the bulk of the Fortnite community.

If may have taken Epic years to finally add this option, but it’s finally here. Next stop, an FoV slider!

Fortnite Season 5 Week 7 is here. Take a look at all of the challenges and how to complete them.

Fortnite Season 5 is chugging along, but there’s still about two months left. The holiday break extended the latest season, so there’s still plenty of time to make your way through the Battle Pass.

The Week 7 challenges are relatively straightforward, with most of them able to be completed without too much effort.

A couple of these challenges will have you searching the same area in Slurpy Swamp, so a favorable bus path in Team Rumble will allow you to complete them in one shot. Here’s what you’ll need to do.

Fortnite Season 5 Week 7 challenges

The good news in the Week 7 challenges is that all of them can be completed in Team Rumble. We have a separate article detailing the locations of Books in Holly Hedges and Sweaty Sands. You can find that here.

The Legendary challenge requires players to deal damage to opponents in Vehicles. This one is going to be a headache, as there’s no way to force another player to be inside of a car or boat when you shoot them.

Hopefully, you can get into a game of Team Rumble with like-minded enemies – sitting in Motorboats and trading shots with you. If not, it’s going to take some serious gaming to finish this one. Good luck!

Fortnite leak reveals 2 new Kevin-themed skins coming soon

Kevin the Cube could be returning to Fortnite, this time in the form of a skin, leaked by data miners in the v15.20 update.

According to Fortnite leaks, Epic are working on two skins that bring Kevin the Cube to life

Before the most recent Fortnitemares event, data miners found a file that related to an upcoming skin. This skin was called “Fancy Kevin,” and had players excited for what was to come. Some even suggested that the skin would be free for the event.

Well, Fortnitemares came and went with no new Kevin skin. After that, most people forgot about Fancy Kevin.

That was until the v15.20 update, where the previously-leaked Kevin skin got an update. Along with that was a new Kevin-themed skin that we hadn’t seen mentioned before.

The initial leak came alongside a leaked jetpack, which we assumed had something to do with Tony Stark. It wasn’t until Season 5 released that we learned that this was actually The Mandalorian’s Jetpack.

It seems like Fancy Kevin and his new partner will follow a similar path – leaked a whole season before their eventual release. There’s even a chance that these skins will be the Season 5 secret skin, although that’s a long-shot.

We’ll have to wait and see what becomes of Fancy Kevin, but it’s good to know that Epic haven’t forgotten about him.

It’s safe to assume that Fancy Kevin and his leaked counterpart will enter Season 5 at some point. As always, we’ll keep you posted when we learn more.
