A new Rift Beacon has appeared in Fortnite Battle Royale meaning that more map changes are coming our way soon.
Fortnite’s tenth season lead fans to believe that the Battle Royale map would be getting major changes, but Epic Games have decided to update different POI’s over an entire map rehaul.
Rift Beacons have been randomly popping up around the map which updates different locations. For instance, the Rift Beacon in Neo Tilted transformed the city to Tilted Town, a city where players could not build or collect materials.
On August 26, players noticed that the Rift Beacon has moved towards the truck stop within the desert biome towards the southeast.
New changes coming to the desert?
The Rift Beacon was previously inside the soccer stadium, but now it is sitting outside the Truck ‘N’ Oasis.
Players have been wondering what will change when the Rift Beacon activates, and thanks to one Reddit user, we might have an answer.
EpicrockerTT estimated that every Rift Beacon’s blast radius is around 250 meters from the center of the beacon.
If this holds true, then Fortnite’s desert biome will see major changes with the truck stop and part of the Western Villiage in the danger zone.
It is estimated that the latest Fortnite v10.20 patch will arrive on Tuesday, August 27 thanks to a leak from a German Fortnite page which has since been removed. Downtime typically begins at around 4 am ET / 1 am PT.
Do you have any guesses on what will change in the desert biome? Maybe we will see a new biome, like Moisty Mire’s swamp environment? Let us know your thoughts down below in the comments!
