Epic Games has provided an official statement regarding the availability of the Fortnitemares Finale In-Game Event.

/u/Epic_Boomer, Community Coordinator at Epic Games on Fortnite, has replied to a Reddit thread detailing where the One-Time Event will be viewable. Despite popular belief and an incorrect Support Reply, players will NOT be able to spectate the event from the Playground Mode. This means players must enter a public lobby of Solo’s, Duo’s, or Squad’s to spectate the event, putting them at risk of being killed.

To clarify, one of our Player Support Team members misspoke in this case. The ‘Playground LTM’ will not be a playlist where you could experience this in-game event. We’ve taken steps to make sure that this is clear in the lobby.

See you Sunday!

The Event is set to take place on Sunday, November 4th, 2018 at 1PM Eastern Time. It is highly recommended that you are in-game at least 10 minutes before the Event is set to begin as there will likely be a login queue due to the masses of players coming online. It seems that the Event will last a total of 5 minutes. Keep in mind this is a one-time event and will never happen again, just as happened with the Rocket Launch of Season 4.

In case you missed it, we have an idea of what the Finale may entail thanks to assets discovered in the files of the v6.21 Patch. Check it here out: Butterfly Event, Nexus Structure, and an updated Floating Island discovered in Fortnite v6.21 files.
