Week 8 of the Fortnite World Cup Online Opens begins on June 1 as duos around the world compete for their shot at the $30 million prize pool.

There are ten weeks of qualifier play, with 5 weeks featuring solos and the other five for duos.

The Fortnite World Cup is a $30 million event taking place in New York at the end of July.

How to watch

Tons of Fortnite esports athletes are participating on June 1 including Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins and Reverse2K.

As always, fans can tune into the official Fortnite stream to keep up with standings.

The official stream combines all of the best plays from streamers and includes a casting crew for analysis.

Format

Fortnite World Cup Online Opens duo events follow the same format for each week.

Each duo has three hours to complete ten matches, in a fight to gain the most points.

Here is the scoring system:

  • Victory Royale: 10 Points
  • 2nd – 5th: 7 Points
  • 6th – 10th: 5 Points
  • 11th – 15th: 3 Points
  • Elimination: 1 Point

Placements

There are only a certain amount of duos who will qualify for the Fortnite World Cup.

Here are how many teams will qualify for the $30 million event:

  • Europe: 4
  • NA East: 3
  • NA West: 1
  • Asia, Brazil, and Oceania cannot qualify this week
