Are you having trouble finding a Lump of Coal for the Fortnite Winterfest challenges? Here’s where to look.
We’re still in the heat of the Fortnite Winterfest event as the snowstorms terrorize the map – leading to low-visibility conditions. The challenges are unaffected, though, and continue to roll-on – snow or no snow.
The Winterfest Day 10 challenge requires you to deal damage with a Lump of Coal. This is a relatively difficult challenge as it relies on you finding coal and hitting an opponent with it – something that’s easier said than done.
All of this for a skateboard variant that will show your holiday style. It’s a fairly decent reward and one that many players will want to obtain.
The first thing you’ll need to do is to find some coal. You can find these in any chest on the map, but they’re relatively rare from that source. Of course, the one time you need the coal it will completely disappear.
A more reliable source of coal can be found in the Iceboxes around the map. You can find these in Sweaty Sands, Weeping Woods, and Logjam Woodworks among other locations.
The biggest cache of Iceboxes is held at Dirty Docks. The back building is a freezer and contains around 10 Iceboxes. We recommend landing there, grabbing some coal, and moving along.
You might be eager to get rid of the coal once you finished your challenge. Not so fast! You can use the coal to stoke a campfire if you need healing or to complete the challenge from earlier in the week.
