Fortnite Winterfest 2020 is right around the corner. Here’s everything we know.
Epic Games have always celebrated the holiday season in Fortnite, bringing players content updates, challenges, and cosmetic rewards. We don’t expect 2020 to be any different, as we prepare ourselves to unlock all of these new holiday-themed additions.
Ahead, we’ll give you a glimpse of everything we know about Winterfest 2020 so far. Check back later for updates, as we’ll be keeping this article up to date with all of the latest Winterfest leaks, rumors, and more.
When does Fortnite Winterfest 2020 start?
We don’t have an exact date of when Winterfest 2020 will begin, but we do have some clues based on past seasonal content.
The original Fortnite Christmas event lasted from December 20 to January 2. Last year, Winterfest ran from December 18 to January 6. We expect something similar to the latter this year.
With updates traditionally coming on Tuesday or Thursday, we expect Winterfest 2020 to begin on December 15-17 and run until January 5-7.
Fortnite Winterfest leaks & rumors
We’ve already seen a ton of leaks and rumors regarding Winterfest 2020 – dating back to before Season 5 even began.
Back in October, Fortnite data miner Hypex provided some leaks of future content that may come in Season 5. One of those elements was a “Snowman NPC.”
At the time, no one knew what this meant. Now, after playing Season 5, it’s fair to assume that a new snowman NPC will come to Fortnite, spawn somewhere holiday-related, and offer quests, bounties, and upgrades.
ShiinaBR, another Fortnite data miner, leaked an image of an upcoming Fortnite skin that, reportedly, doesn’t come with an Item Shop tag. He took this to mean that Snowmando – as the skin is named – could be a free skin for 14 Days of Fortnite like we saw last season.
Whether or not this is the case, it stands to reason that Snowmando will be the rumored Snowman NPC that will come to Fortnite this Winterfest season.
Epic Games have been focused on the Flopper loot pool in recent seasons, so it makes sense that they’ll be giving this a change for Winterfest, as well.
According to LunakisLeaks, We’ll be getting a “Christmas Flopper” this Winterfest season. As to what it will do: your guess is as good as ours.
Along with these leaks, we have rumors of returning items like Presents, Ice Machines, Snowball Launchers, and more.
Hopefully, Epic give us some free cosmetics as they did with the last season. The Star Wars Sith back bling is still one of the most popular cosmetic items in the game – a year later.
We’ll keep you posted with everything we learn ahead of the 2020 Winterfest patch. Make sure to follow us on Twitter, so you never miss anything, @FortniteINTEL.
Fortnite Wild Week 4: Every discounted item price & location
Here is every discounted item’s new price and location during Fortnite Wild Week 4! Spend your gold before the season ends!
Fortnite Wild Week 4 has started, and it focuses on discounting the price of NPC items. Here’s every item’s new price and where they can be found.
During the sixth week of Fortnite Season 6, Epic Games announced the first-ever Wild Week. These would be week-long events that would emphasize one of the game’s mechanics. The first week made flammable weapons spawn more frequently. The second week made fishing holes and Super Rods more abundant. And the third week made Shockwave Grenade, Bows, and Bounce Pads appear more frequently.
Now, it’s the 11th and final week of Season 6, which means it’s time for Fortnite Wild Week 4. Similar to the end of Season 5, all of the items that can be purchased from NPCs with gold bars have been discounted. If a player has been waiting to get their hands on an Exotic weapon, there’s no better time than right now.
Gold discounts for Wild Week 4
Above is a map showing the location of every NPC in Fortnite Season 6. Each NPC has an icon next to it that indicates which items they currently sell. Not every NPC sells items, but the ones that do have a discounted price. The chart below shows the new price of every item/weapon an NPC can sell.
|Item Name||Discounted Price|
|Storm Circle Intel||85 bars|
|Prop Disguises||35 Bars|
|Rift To Go||120 Bars|
|Shadow Tracker Pistol||200 Bars|
|Hop Rock Dualies||250 Bars|
|Chug Cannon||300 Bars|
|Grappler Bow||250 Bars|
|Marksman Six Shooter||200 Bars|
|Unstable Bow||250 bars|
It’s also worth noting that intel for other items such as chest locations, vehicle locations, etc. have also been given a 50% discount. Below is another map that shows the location of every purchasable Exotic weapon. Since these weapons have been heavily discounted, players may want to drop here first to get a leg up in battle.
This discount will last until the end of Season 6, and it’s unknown whether the gold bar system will return in Season 7. Seeing as it’s already lasted two seasons, and the mechanic is popular among players, it will likely return. However, since players won’t carry over their bars, Fortnite Wild Week 4 is the perfect time to spend them all.
Fortnite’s Alien Invasion has begun
Players are starting to be abducted by UFOs as the Fortnite Alien Invasion begins. Here’s footage of the first abductions.
Players are starting to be abducted and transported to random points of the map marking the beginning of the Fortnite Alien Invasion.
When the v16.50 patch was released two weeks ago, data miners discovered files containing extraterrestrial content. There were various visual assets depicting aliens and character animations showing players getting abducted. However, no one knew when the Fortnite Alien Invasion would take place.
After these mysterious files were found, several streamers received portable DVD players in the mail. Each came with a DVD titled “They’re Coming”, and each had unique footage of different crop circles. This all but proved that aliens would be coming to Fortnite.
Fortnite invaded by aliens
Many players suspected that the UFOs would make first contact on Tuesday, June 1. Yet, Tuesday had almost come and gone without the slightest bit of movement in the sky. It wasn’t until around 10:30 p.m. EST on Tuesday that Twitter user RexiumFN posted the first footage of an alien abduction.
RexiumFN and various other players had been hanging out at Risky Reels when a beam of green light came from the sky and target one of the players. Everyone stood idly by as their friend was picked up by this light before vanishing.
Shortly after, another Twitter user named HyperDiamond123 uploaded a first-person view of themselves being abducted. Again, the abduction happened at Risky Reels, and the player was transported a little way outside of the landmark. The player appeared face down on the ground before bringing themselves back onto their feet.
The Fortnite Alien Invasion has officially started, and it’s presumed that abductions will happen more frequently as Season 6 draws to a close. Season 7 starts on June 8 which means players have until then to be swept off their feet by alien lifeforms.
It should be noted that alien abductions happen at random, and multiple people can be picked up at one time. Players who are abducted will have their healthy and shield restored but will be teleported to a random location. Regardless, it’s time for some good ‘ole fashioned alien hunting.
Los Angeles Lakers take first place in Fortnite x NBA The Crossover
The Fortnite x NBA The Crossover event has concluded with the Los Angeles Lakers winning by over 30 million points.
The Fortnite x NBA The Crossover event has concluded, and the Los Angeles Lakers won by a landslide.
The competition started on May 19 allowing players to sign up online and choose the NBA team they wanted to represent. All 30 NBA teams were eligible to be selected, and each had a maximum of 15,000 players. However, players could still join those teams as fans and could still earn points for the team.
The difference between a player and a fan is that only the players can earn the rewards if their team placed in the top three. So, while the Los Angeles Lakers only had 136k members, only the 15k team members will earn the rewards. Regardless, the massive number of people supporting the Lakers allowed their team to win by a huge margin.
Lakers win Fortnite x NBA The Crossover
The Los Angeles Lakers and its 136k members scored a total of 86,821,005 points. These points were earned by completing daily challenges and repeatable challenges. It was clear early in the competition that the Lakers were going to win. At the end of the event, the Lakers placed first with over 30 million more points than the second-place team.
In second place, the Chicago Bulls earned 56,508,110 points followed by the Brooklyn Nets who scored 50,531,567. All of the remaining teams scored within a few million of one another. Yet, no one even came close to the Los Angeles Lakers.
A lot of players felt it unfair that an unlimited number of fans could join any team. While they wouldn’t earn any of the rewards at the end, they could still amass points for their teams. The 15k player cap mixed with website issues on the day the event launched led to a lot of frustration.
First place was awarded 500 V-Bucks per player, second place was 300, and third place was 100. These V-Bucks can take up to 30 days to appear in the players’ accounts. As well, every first-place teammate will earn the NBA Championship Back Bling. This cosmetic item will appear in the shop at a later date.
