Fortnite has taken home yet another award to its trophy case.

On November 12, Fortnite was awarded with ‘Esports Breakthrough Game of the Year’ at the 2018 Esports Awards.

Although the Battle Royale portion of Fortnite has only been out since September of 2017, Epic Games pledged $100 million for various competitions between 2018 and 2019.

Live events such as the Summer and Fall Skirmishes, Pro-AM, and others helped propel the game to the top of the esports community over the course of mere months.

The official announcement can be viewed below.

The Esports Awards aims to ‘acknowledge and reward outstanding achievement throughout the industry’ with a collection of categories and nominees.

Fortnite is represented in a number of sections across the Esports Industry Awards, including the possibility of being voted as ‘Esports Game of the Year.’

We will continue to provide updates as the winners are announced.
