Fortnite v16.30, the third major Season 6 patch, is live. This week’s update introduces Neymar Jr., a couple of Mythic bows, and some explosive changes to the casual and competitive loot pools.
Fortnite’s last major update (v16.20) added the long-awaited grappler bow and a new set of off-road tires. These additions focused on mobility and made traveling across the map a lot easier.
Update v16.30 focuses more on enhanced firepower and adds Neymar Jr. to the season. Here’s everything you need to know about Fortnite v16.30.
- Players receiving a Quest from Jonesy The First that does not grant rewards
- Storm visual effects appearing outside of the Storm
- “Recent Islands” list does not update in Creative
- Flag does not respawn when flag carrier leaves game
- Small white boxes appears on Consumable thumbnails
- “Allow Spectate Other Team” setting not working
- The “Bad Clams”/”Destroy Fungus” quest in Scurvy Shoals have a low spawn objective rate in Save the World.
While all of these bugs may have been fixed, players are already noticing a glaring issue with vehicles that causes them not to render until they are right next to them. Hopefully, this issue will be resolved soon as it’s causing a lot of unintentional wrecks.
Neymar Jr. Skin
The Season 6 secret skin was revealed to be pro footballer Neymar Jr. at the beginning of the season, and now players can complete special challenges to unlock him. Similar to Predator in Season 5, there are additional challenges that can be completed to unlock more Neymar-themed cosmetics.
To unlock Fortnite’s Neymar Jr. skin, you will need to complete five challenges given by soccer player characters. They are found on the soccer fields at Pleasant Park, Dirty Docks, and Holly Hedges.
New Mythic Bows
Fortnite v16.30 also adds two new Mythic bows into the rotation of weapons. Players can no longer craft the Mechanical Explosive Bow but can get Raz’s Mythic Explosive Bow by defeating the mini-boss at The Spire. The Unstable Bow can be purchased from the Raven NPC located on a hill northwest of Sweaty Sands.
Raz’s Explosive Bow is identical to the non-mythic variant but deals more damage. The Unstable Bow switches randomly between fire, stink, explosive, and shockwave arrows after every shot.
This update isn’t as impactful as v16.20 in terms of overall gameplay, but it does add some cool cosmetics to the game. As well, the reintroduction of the Explosive Bow in competitive matchmaking may ruffle a few players’ feather.
Fortnite Season 8 Patch Notes: new weapons, punch cards return, & more
Fortnite Season 8 is here which means there’s a ton of new content to explore. Check out everything that Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 offers.
Following one of the wildest seasons to date, Fortnite Season 8 takes players even further into the unknown. Here’s everything new in Fortnite Season 8.
Fortnite Season 7 was out of this world… literally. The season featured an ever-changing alien invasion that was quite unpredictable. It also offered a variety of weapons, vehicles, and crossovers.
However, if you thought an invasion was strange, wait until you see what Season 8 has in store. The theme for Fortnite Season 8 is “Cubed” and it focuses on the return of Kevin. Not just one Kevin, but a lot of Kevin’s scattered around the map.
Season 8 not only features the return of one of Fortnite’s most beloved characters. This season brings a slew of new weapons, hostile zombie creatures, and the return of some fan-favorite features.
Fortnite Season 8 New Map
Of course, with every new season comes a new map. Despite the massive Mothership explosion, the map is relatively unscathed. With a couple “new” POIs, players might be a bit underwhelmed. Here are the new POIs:
- Sludgy Swamp (Formerly Slurpy Swamp)
- Corny Crops (Formerly Corny Complex)
And that’s it. However, there are various new biomes dotted around the map. As you can see below, these biomes are quite large. They are likely where different Kevin Cubes are placed.
Season 8 New Weapons and Items
While the map doesn’t offer many changes, there are a lot of new weapons and items. These new weapons can be found inside chests, including a new chest variant.
Like last season, there is a new variety of weapons. These weapons are called Sideways weapons, and they are very powerful. The Sideways is similar to Stranger Things’ Upsidedown. It is a mysterious place but produces some seriously powerful equipment.
- Sideways Rifle
- Sideways Minigun
- Shadow Flopper
- Dual Crossbows
- Carnage Symbiote Mythic
- Venom Symbiote Mythic
- Sideways Chest
- Cube Monster Parts
- Sideways Light Blade
- Armored Wall
- “Spicy Soda”
- Rainbow Ink
- Color Bottles
- Sideways Shotgun (upcoming)
- Sideways Scythe (upcoming)
Battle Stars, Toona Fish, Punch Cards, and more!
Fortnite Season 8 features the return of some fan-favorite systems. These include the Battle Stars which was present during Season 7. As well, Toon Fishstick is this season’s customizable skin.
Outside of what was present last season, players can also enjoy the return of Punch Cards and Quest Sharing. Punch Cards allow players to earn XP faster by rewarding players more often. As well, Quest Sharing allows players to work together to complete quests.
Additionally, players will get to decide which new weapons will be added to Fortnite during this season. Players will also get to vote for which fan-favorite weapons will be unvaulted! The voting process will be revealed at a later date.

Fortnite Season 7 is just about over, but not before another content update. The final update of the season contains the Fortnite v17.50 patch notes. There may not be any new items of weapons, but it’s still a big one.
Each update this season has truly affected the game unlike a few seasons prior. During Season 7, new content was added almost weekly, and it’s going to stay that way until the very end.
From a new abduction site to multiple in-game events, here is what players can expect from the last update of Season 7.
Corny Complex Abduction – Fortnite Patch Notes
Following the abduction of both Slurpy Swamp and Coral Castle, a third POI is going to be removed from the map. This will happen in three stages, and then the POI will appear in the Mothership.
Thanks to dataminers, we already know which POI will be abducted next. Corny Complex, one of the biggest POIs is next up. It has been a hot drop this season, and is one of the new POIs from Season 7.
Island Games challenges and rewards
There is also a new limited-time event taking place in-game. Starting at 9 a.m. EST on August 31, players can participate in the Island Games. The Island Games are Creative challenges that require players to play specific maps.
There are six exclusive cosmetics players can earn from the challenges. With 18 challenges total, these are a great way to rack up XP and free items.
Live event countdown for Season 8
As expected, there will be a live event to end Season 7. What this event entails is still unknown, but we do know when it will take place. The countdown timer is slated to appear in-game this Friday.
Season 7 will end on September 12 right after the event takes place. Immediately after, downtime for Fortnite Season 8 will begin. When the downtime ends, Season 8 will begin.

Fortnite v17.40 Patch Notes: Coral Castle, Impostor Mode, Wild Weeks, and more
The Fortnite v17.40 patch notes are here outlining all of the major changes from one of the final updates of Season 7.
The second to last Season 7 update is here, and here are all of the Fortnite v17.40 patch notes.
Fortnite Season 7 has been pretty wild so far. Every content update has rolled out new weapons and map changes. The storyline has been more active than it’s been for a few seasons now.
There seems to be a general census that Season 7 is one of the best seasons of Fortnite. If not the best Season of Chapter 2 so far.
And the latest content update is a pretty big one. The Fortnite v17.40 patch notes include details of Wild Weeks returning, a new Impostor Mode, Coral Castle’s abduction, and more. Here they are!
Coral Castle Abducted – Fortnite Patch Notes
After waiting for the better half of Season 7, Coral Castle has finally been abducted. One of the most underwhelming POIs is being changed for the first time since its creation.
This is a major map change similar to when Slurpy Swamp was abducted. The main pieces of the POI will be floating in a low gravity zone. Later, the pieces will be transported to the inside of the Mothership.
Impostor LTM – Fortnite Patch Notes
The rumored Impostor Mode has finally arrived with the Fortnite v17.40 patch notes. This is a story-based LTM similar to the Impossible Escape LTM from last season.
This mode is similar to the hit game Among Us where players either play as Agents or Impostors. Agents will complete tasks around the base while Impostors attempt to sabotage their operations.
Sadly, there are not exclusive rewards for winning. However, players can explore a highly detailed and lore-riddled Imaging Order base.
Wild Weeks Return – Fortnite Patch Notes
The end of Season 7 is near, and so Wild Weeks are making a return. Each week, Epic Games will change one of Fortnite’s core functions. There will also be weekly Legendary quests that go along with these changes.

The Wild Week changes will start on Thursday with the introduction of Sneak Week. Every Epic or greater Pistol and AR, and every Bolt Action Sniper, will be replaced with their suppressed variants. More vendors will also supply Prop Disguises, and the Prop-ifier will drop more often from chests.
New Burst Pulse Rifle
A new weapon has been added to the loot pool. The Burst Pulse Rifle can be purchased from the Kymera NPC. This is similar to the Burst AR, but in alien form.
The Burst Pulse Rifle fires two-shot bursts and has a larger clip than the regular Pulse Rifle.
Fortnite v17.40 Bug Fixes
- Fixed a Preferred Item Slots issue involving double item slot items, such as the Chug Cannon, moving to the incorrect slots when the player picked up a new item.
- Fixed an issue involving Cosmic Chests being unopenable if a player had left the team during the match.
- Fixed an issue that caused us to disable Prop Disguise services from vendors. These are now re-enabled.
