Fortnite v12.41: What to expect

Fortnite v12.41 is confirmed for April 21. Here’s what you can expect from the content update.

Fortnite v12.41 is confirmed for April 21. Here’s what you can expect from the content update.

Epic have confirmed that the v12.41 update is coming tomorrow, April 21. The downtime will begin at 2 AM EST, following the recent schedule change of the Fortnite updates.

Make sure you have your game set to auto-update overnight. This one won’t be too large but will likely include some new items, modes, or files to sift through. Here’s everything that you can expect from the update.

Bug Fixes

This is a content update, so we can’t be 100% sure that Epic will release bug fixes as they normally do. Here’s what’s listed as “Fixed in next game release” on the Fortnite Community Issues Trello board:

  • Midas’ Golden Touch appearing in low resolution on weapon Wraps.
  • UI disappears if canceling Ready Up while spectating.
  • Double-clicking item in the Chest tab may cause the game to crash. (Creative)

As you can see the list is shorter than usual. A list such as this points to these bug fixes coming in the content update, which is good news. These aren’t some of the most pressing issues in the game, but they might be all that will be addressed on such short notice.

Astronomical files

In case you missed it, Fortnite announced the dates for the official Fortnite X Travis Scott event on April 20. You can take a look at the details here.

We can expect a few leaks to come out of the v12.41 patch ahead of the concert on Thursday. We’ll probably see the cosmetic leaks along with some possible sound files for the event.

‘Arsenic’ LTM

We also saw some leaks that point to an Infected-style LTM called ‘Arsenic.’ All of the leaks for that LTM can be found here.

We don’t know when this LTM is coming to Fortnite, but it could be as early as the v12.41 update. It might make more sense for Epic to hold it until after the Travis Scott concert, however.

Fortnite Retail Row Zombies Shield Glitch

Leaked weapons

Another v12.40 leak told of a new shotgun and dual-wield pistols coming to Fortnite. These could be released as soon as tomorrow, as well.

The shotgun is the more interesting of the two leaked weapons. This will, reportedly, be some sort of charge weapon that will deal more damage when you hold down the trigger. More details on this weapon will probably come out in the v12.41 update, even if we don’t see the weapon, itself.

So, there you have it: everything you can expect in the v12.41 content update. We probably won’t see all of this come to the game, but it’s all on the table as of now.

As always, we’ll have you covered with all of the leaks, unofficial patch notes, map changes, and everything else coming out of the v12.41 update when it goes live.

How to unlock the Armored Kratos style in Fortnite

Kratos from God of War has made it to Fortnite. Find out how to unlock the Armored Kratos style for free in Season 5.

Kratos has landed on the Fortnite island, but his single style isn’t his only form. Here’s how to unlock his Armored outfit.

After a full season worth of crossovers, Epic slowed things down with Fortnite Season 5. The new season was released with only one crossover character in the roster: The Mandalorian.

It only took a couple of days for Epic to add to their Season 5 crossover roster. On December 3, Kratos from God of War came to the Item Shop. This preceeds the rumored addition of Master Chief from the Halo franchise.

Although God of War is a Playstation exclusive video game, players on all platforms could grab Kratos and his skin pack. You know that Sony had to do something for their console owners, however.

PlayStation players who play a single game with the Kratos skin will unlock the Armored Kratos style for their skin – it’s as simple as that.

Unfortunately, Android, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch players will need to stick to the standard Kratos outfit – unless you have a PS5 lying around.

If you don’t have a PlayStation on-hand, the only option you have is to ask a trustworthy friend to log onto your account and play a game for you. Giving out your account information is risky and usually a bad idea, so proceed with caution.

Hopefully for Xbox players, Microsoft will have the same deal with Epic Games when Master Chief comes to the Item Shop. He’s one of the most iconic characters in all of gaming and will probably be a popular pick on all platforms.

All Fortnite Season 5 Exotic Weapon locations

Fortnite Season 5 brought Exotic weapons to the game to replace Mythics. Here’s where to find all of them.

Fortnite Season 5 introduced Exotic weapons to the game instead of Mythics, giving more players access to them. Here’s where you can find them.

There’s no shortage of new mechanics in Fortnite Season 5, with the addition of NPCs, quests, and a whole lot more.

Mythics have returned to the game in Season 5 but in a limited capacity. The only classic Mythic items in Fortnite Season 5 include The Mandalorian’s Jetpack and sniper rifle, both available from the bounty hunter himself.

The other items in the game are classified as Exotics. There’s only one of each Mythic item in each game, but can be multiple Exotic weapons.

You can purchase these Exotic weapons from specific NPCs across the map. Of course, this means you’ll need to save up your Gold Bars to afford them.

Twitter user @MikeDulaimi created an easy-to-follow guide on how to locate all of the Exotic weapons in Fortnite. You can purchase them from NPCs in the areas surrounding Hunter’s Haven, The Zero Point, Dirty Docks, Craggy Cliffs, and Stealthy Stronghold

Mythic items were relatively controversial for the past few seasons of Fortnite – especially in competitive modes. Doom’s Mystical Bomb and Kit’s Shockwave Launcher dominated tournament play for the past two seasons, and the competitive community largely called for them to be removed.

We’re curious to see how this community treats Exotic weapons. They’re more widely available and aren’t as powerful as Mythics, making them more balanced than the latter – that is, until a player eliminates the NPC selling them.

Game-breaking bug causing invisibility/God Mode in Fortnite Season 5

Players have already found a game-breaking glitch in Fortnite Season 5, causing players to go invisible and become invulnerable to damage.

Fortnite Season 5 wasn’t released bug-free. In fact, there’s already a game-breaking bug causing players to become invisible and invulnerable to damage.

Every major update in almost every video game brings a few bugs with it, and Fortnite is no different. This is almost always the case when video games add new mechanics, as Fortnite did with Season 5.

This game-breaking bug has to do with the new sand mechanic. For those who don’t know, the center of the Fortnite island is now covered with quicksand. If you stand on the sand for too long, it sinks you in.

The quicksand isn’t a bad thing. It can actually benefit players, offering a hiding spot and increased movement speed, as seen below.

However, on the flip side, it’s also causing a bug that makes players invisible and invulnerable to damage. This isn’t the first invisibility glitch we’ve seen in Fortnite. Older patches had the same issue with Port-A-Potties.

This glitch appears to be more prevalent than the previous ones, however. We’ve seen several reports of this happening to players – sometimes even multiple times in a single play session. The Port-A-Potty glitch required more intention on the part of the players involved.

Hopefully, Epic get this sorted sooner rather than later. We wouldn’t be surprised to see the sand-sinking mechanic disabled ahead of the next update if Epic can’t push a hotfix to address the problem.

We don’t know whether this glitch is intentional on the part of infracting players or if there’s a method to trigger the issue. We’ll let you know when we find out more about the problem.
