The Alien Invasion has started, and here is how players can get abducted by UFOs in Fortnite.
Since the patch notes for v16.50 were revealed, we knew Aliens were on their way to Fortnite. We just didn’t know when they would arrive. Players suspected they would appear on Tuesday, June 1, as new content usually goes live on Tuesdays. However, it wouldn’t be until later that evening that the first players would be abducted.
Since then, various players have claimed they have been abducted by aliens. Many people are posting footage on Reddit and Twitter of their abductions. These extraterrestrial encounters have left many players wondering, how can we get abducted as well?
Getting abducted by Fortnite UFOs
While the stories and clips of players getting abducted are flooding social media, they aren’t as prevalent in-game. Right now, getting abducted by UFOs in Fortnite is a rare occurrence. There is speculation that the frequency of alien abductions will increase as we get closer to the end of the season. However, that has yet to be seen.

Abductions will occur randomly during a match, and can happen at any time and at any location. There is no way for a player to trigger an abduction. In short, players just have to play normally and hope they occur.
There are a few ways to make getting abducted easier. First off, abductions won’t happen in competitive playlists so players will need to play normal game modes. Instead of hopping into public lobbies, players can use the Battle Labs mode. Alien abductions can happen in Battle Labs which allows you to play without the fear of getting eliminated by other players.
When an abduction is about to happen, a bright green beam of light will target a nearby player or players. It will take a few moments after the light appears, but then the targeted players will lift from the ground. They will then vanish and be teleported to another point on the map with their health restored. It may take a while for a player to get abducted, but let us know down below if you’ve been lucky enough to be chosen.
How & where to upgrade weapons in Fortnite Season 7
Fortnite Season 7 has reintroduced weapon upgrade benches. Here’s where every bench is located and how players can upgrade weapons in Fortnite.
Crafting has stuck around and Upgrade Benches have made a triumphant return! Here’s how to upgrade weapons in Fortnite Season 7 for the right price.
Fortnite Season 5 did away with Upgrade Benches – instead, integrating weapon upgrades into the new Gold Bars system. In Season 6, Epic introduced another new way to upgrade weapons in the form of the crafting system.
Now, at the start of Fornite Season 7, Upgrade Benches have returned to The Island. That means there are currently three ways to upgrade weapons in Fortnite. Players can use bars, crafting materials, or building materials.
Upgrade weapons in Fortnite Season 7
Just like Seasons 5 and 6, the best way to upgrade weapons is to find select NPCs. Not every NPC has the option to upgrade weapons, so it’s better to use the map we’ve provided to find the exact locations for upgrades.

The map below was made using Fortnite.gg and shows the location of every NPC with the upgrade option. Only weapons that can be found in a higher rarity can be upgraded, and each tier will cost more Gold Bars. Upgrading a weapon from common to uncommon may not cost much, but the leap from Epic to Legendary is a pricey upgrade.
This second map shows the location of every weapon upgrade bench. Players can visit these bench locations and use building materials they’ve collected to upgrade a weapon’s rarity. Each upgrade will cost a different amount of materials depending on the rarity of the item.
The third and most tedious way to upgrade weapons is to use Fortnite’s crafting system. In Season 6, players had bones and mechanical parts to craft with. Now players have to craft nuts and bolts in order to craft a better weapon. The recipe for nuts and bolts is in the player’s crafting menu.
How Fortnite Season 7’s Battle Star system works
Fortnite’s Season 7 is switching up the Battle Pass. Players can earn Season 7 Battle Stars to purchase the BP cosmetic in the order they want.
For those new to Fortnite, you may not be familiar with Season 7’s Battle Star system. Here’s how players can earn and use Fortnite Season 7 Battle Stars to unlock skins.
During a normal season of Fortnite, players would complete challenges and earn XP to climb Battle Pass tiers. Tiers would corelate with the player’s level, and each tier has specific rewards. However, the Battle Star system makes a drastic change to how players earn seasonal items.
The Fortnite Season 7 Battle Stars are earned by leveling and spent on Battle Pass items. They gives players a bit of freedom to choose which items they want to unlock. Players can buy the level 100 skin right from the start, but they can choose the order in which they get there.
Understanding Battle Star and the Battle Pass
The Season 7 Battle Pass isn’t a tier list. Instead, it’s more like a catalog of items players can choose from. They will have to unlock a certain number of items or reach a certain level before they can move to different tiers of the catalog. But they are still able to choose how they get to that next tier.
The easiest way to get to the next tier is by purchasing the required number of items using Battle Stars. These are a form of currency that a player earns every time they level up. With each level, a player will earn five Battle Stars. They can then use these stars to purchase any of the Battle Pass cosmetics available to them.
Players can still purchase levels using V-Bucks, and in return they will be rewarded with five Battle Stars for every level they purchase. Each level costs 150 V-Bucks. This won’t auto unlock items like in the past, but will reward players with Battle Stars to spend.
With all of the great cosmetic items in Fortnite Season 7’s Battle Pass, it’s hard to choose what to buy first. Do you save up your stars until you reach a certain level, or do you spend them as you earn them? There’s plenty of time to earn enough stars to buy every item in the Battle Pass, so get out there and start earning those stars.
How to get the Rick Sanchez skin in Fortnite
Fortnite Season 7 has an official crossover with Rick & Morty. Here is how players can unlock the Rick skin in Fortnite.
Rick Sanchez from the popular cartoon Rick & Morty has made his way into the world’s most popular Battle Royale. Here is how to get the Rick skin in Fortnite Season 7.
Grandpa Rick is part of the Fortnite Season 7 Battle Pass which means players will have to work a little bit to get him. Luckily, players who have an active Fortnite Crew subscription will already have access to this season’s Battle Pass.
However, he is easier to unlock than you’d think. Since Fortnite Season 7 features the return of the Battle Star system, players only need to earn enough stars to unlock him. The Battle Star system allows players to unlock Battle Pass items in the order that they want. So, Grandpa Rick can be the first skin that players unlock this season.
Rick Fortnite skin set and cost
There is a catch to the Battle Star system though, that may make it take longer for players to unlock Rick. Rick is on page 10 of the Battle Pass which means players have to be at least level 90 to purchase his cosmetics. Alternatively, players can claim 89 Battle Pass rewards to unlock Page 10.
When players finally unlock page ten, they can then buy the Rick skin in Fortnite for 9 Battle Stars. Rick also comes with a cosmetic set of 8 other items that can also be purchased. The Hammer Morty pickaxe costs 7 Stars. The Butter Robot Back Bling costs six Stars. His weapon wrap costs five Stars, and his Glider costs six stars.
His set also comes with an emoticon, emote, spray, and loading screen. While he can be the first skin that players purchase, they would have to spend a lot of V-Bucks on Battle Pass tiers. Since Rick is essentially the Level 100 skin for this season, it makes sense that he would take longer to unlock.
Rick also has a skin variant that can be unlocked that turns him green and slimey. This style is found under a different Battle Pass tab and also has to be purchased using Battle Stars. Players also have to meet certain criteria to unlock the page it’s on.
