Fortnite skin being called ‘pay-to-win’ after this cool trick

Fortnite Season 5 has yet another pay-to-win situation, this time in Kit’s Cantina with the Breakpoint skin.

Fortnite Season 5 is no stranger to pay-to-win controversies. This one is probably more creative than any other we’ve seen.

Another “pay-to-win” controversy is plaguing Fortnite, but this one is a lot more fun than those we’ve seen in the past.

For those who don’t remember, Fortnite recently went through a pay-to-win debacle with the customizable superhero skins.

The all-black variants were very difficult to see in low-light situations. Epic later changed these cosmetics and eventually disabled them in competitive modes when players found a workaround for the nerf.

Now, Fortnite is facing another pay-to-win situation, but Epic aren’t likely to take action, here. This all revolves around a new Fortnite map feature with an old skin.

Epic added Kit’s Cantina to the Fortnite map in a recent update. At this POI, you’ll find a hologram on the stage, thanking the crowd. The hologram is doing the Accolades emote, which players can purchase from the Item Shop.

A skin called Breakpoint also looks like a hologram. Naturally, TikToker korc1e put two and two together by syncing the emote and hiding inside of the hologram for some free eliminations.

This strategy picked up steam on TikTok and Reddit, eventually getting the attention of creators like SypherPK. Sypher made a video, abusing the synced emote and getting some kills on unsuspecting players.

This is a relatively benign pay-to-win controversy and will probably be out of the game in Season 6. Even if it’s still there, Epic could easily fix the exploit by removing the hologram.

This might be the last we see of this situation, but you should keep an eye out while rummaging around Kit’s Cantina. Mando might not be the only person that’s waiting to kill you.

Neymar Jr. & Iron Man emotes disabled in Fortnite competitive

Fortnite’s Neymar Jr. and Iron Man transformation emotes have been removed from competitive due to a glitch.

The Neymar Jr. and Iron Man transformation emotes have been removed from Fortnite’s competitive playlists after a glitch was discovered.

If a casual Fortnite player were to hop into competitive matchmaking for the first time, they’ll quickly realize some major differences. There won’t be any players with explosive bows, the maximum number of materials that can be carried has been halved, and almost everyone is wearing a female skin.

The best players spend most of their time in competitive Fortnite modes. That’s why Epic Games tries to maintain a fair and balanced experience. Half mats forces players to build more carefully and overpowered weapons are removed to ensure one player doesn’t dominate the competition.

As for skin choices, most professional players will opt for female skins because of their low profile. While the hitbox might be the same for all skins, the size of each model can vary. Neymar Jr. and Iron Man may not have been popular skins to use in competitive, but now they may never get picked.

A glitch was discovered that allowed players to turn invisible when using the Shhh. and Suit Up emotes. These are the built-in transformation emotes that come with the Neymar Jr. and Iron Man skins. Because of this unfair advantage, both emotes have been disabled in competitive playlists but remain active in casual play.

The bug is randomly triggered when using the transformative emotes, and the invisible player may not even realize the bug has happened. As seen below, the skin is completely invisible while the gun and back bling can still be seen.

The Neymar Jr. and Tony Stark skins are pretty neat in their own way, but they are much cooler after they’ve suited up. Neymar Jr.’s armor is a lot more menacing than another soccer player, and Tony Stark doesn’t seem as powerful without his suit.

Regardless, these emotes can still be used in casual play and will return to competitive once the bug has been fixed. Until then, there won’t be any more transforming icons running around competitive.

Fortnite tournament canceled after game-breaking glitch goes viral

A game-breaking Fortnite duplication glitch went viral over the weekend, prompting DreamHack to cancel their open tournament.

Fortnite Season 6

DreamHack canceled their open tournament this weekend after Fortnite players find a game-breaking duplication glitch.

Fortnite is no stranger to game-breaking glitches and exploits. Most of the time, it takes a fair bit of effort to pull off the exploits. This isn’t the case in a glitch that went viral over the weekend.

Players recently stumbled upon a duplication glitch that was troublingly easy to perform – so easy, in fact, that multiple players discovered it by mistake.

To complete the glitch, all you need to do is have a full inventory. After that, you just have to throw a consumable item while picking up another item from the ground. This will duplicate the item you throw, and you can do it as many times as you want.

We’re not sure when this glitch first made it into Fortnite, but the first round of players who discover such an exploit usually don’t talk about it. It’s safe to say that this has been possible for at least a week in Fortnite Season 6.

DreamHack, who were hosting an open tournament this weekend, decided to reschedule; citing, “tournament integrity concerns.” As this was an open, remote tournament, it would be impossible to make sure no players ever abused this glitch.

At the end of the day, it’s better that everyone knows about a glitch like this rather than only a handful. Epic will undoubtedly do something about it in the next patch. If it didn’t go viral, they may never have found out.

Crazy Fortnite door exploit sends players flying

A new exploit has been found in Fortnite Season 6, giving players the ultimate mobility with a simple door edit.

Players have found a new rotation exploit in Fortnite Season 6 that has them flying across the map. Here’s how to do it.

Fortnite has always been prone to exploits – some more broken than others. Most players will remember that sand tunneling was disabled for the bulk of Fortnite Season 5 due to an exploit that made players invisible.

Season 6 is no exception. Players have already found a way to farm unlimited Gold Bars if you don’t care too much about your stats. You can even keep your health ticking up for an entire match if you have a friend by your side for another exploit.

This time, players have found a way to combine rotational items like chickens, Hop Rock Dualies, and Easter Eggs with a simple door edit to send them flying across the map.

Fortnite Door edit exploit

As you can see from the video above, the door exploit is simple. All you need to do is have a low-gravity item like a chicken, Hop Rock Dualies, or Easter Egg. After that, you just need to edit a door, open it, jump on top, and close it.

The one caveat to this exploit is that you have to make sure you’re facing in the right direction. The door will send you flying away from the direction that it’s facing, so make sure you angle yourself correctly.

SypherPK covered this strategy in a recent video, testing all of the different mobility items in the game. As he said, the exploit seems to work better with female characters than it does with male characters.

The Easter Egg in Fortnite is a seasonal item, and will probably leave the game next week. The removal of this item will make the exploit far less common, as you will only be able to use Hop Fish, Exotic Dualies, or a chicken.

This exploit is on the fence of being problematic. It probably won’t ruin the game for people, but is undoubtedly unintended. We’ll have to see if Epic take action on this one.
