The Infinity Gauntlet briefly dropped into Fortnite for the Fortnite x Avengers limited time event, and we think it’s time for Thanos to return.

For a special event to help promote Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War film from 2018, which featured a LTM based around Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet from the movie.

The Infinity Gauntlet LTM would randomly drop the Infinity Gauntlet from the sky, allowing one player to wield the powerful weapon.

Once a player would wield the Infinity Gauntlet, their character will go through an animation that would send the player into the sky and decent down as Thanos.

The Infinity Gauntlet was insanely powerful, similar to the Infinity Blade from Season 7.

The Fortnite x Avengers Infinity Gauntlet LTM was briefly available back in 2018.

The Infinity Gauntlet would allow players to use four different abilities:

  • Ability 1 – A powerful punch that can deal up to 100 damage
  • Ability 2 – Ground pound that will send players flying back and taking damage
  • Ability 3 – Power Beam that deals 20 damage, continuously, over time
  • Ability 4 – Arial jump that can send Thanos flying over players and structures

Even though the Infinity Gauntlet virtually garunteed a victory royale to the wielder, the LTM was insanely fun.

The Infinity Gauntlet wasn’t featured in the regular Battle Royale modes, so players knew what they were getting into once they joined.

Jumping over players while planning out an attack in order to eliminate three players with one ability made me feel like an evil god, although not as menacing as Thanos himself.

Thanks to Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet, players could jump around and demolish enemies into theoretical dust.

It was certainly a creative way to promote the latest Avenger’s movie while drawing players to try out something completely new in Fortnite.

With all the negatively swirling around the community throughout the past several months, Epic Games could take advantage of the Infinity Gauntlet and relaunch the LTM for EndGame.

Avengers: EndGame is due in theaters on Friday, April 26, so that leaves almost 14 days of open space for Epic Games to utilize.

Epic Games has been facing tons of scrutiny with the v8.20 update removing health siphon, and the announcement that the Reboot Van will be available with the v8.30 update, Fortnite needs a fun mode for players to relax and have fun.
