Professional Fortnite player and content creator FaZe Jarvis has been permanently banned from Fortnite for using an aimbot.
FaZe Jarvis has been creating Fortnite content since the game’s beginning. Now, two years later, it appears as though that journey has come to an end.
The content creator and pro player released a video on November 3, announcing that his main account Fortnite and alt accounts have been permanently banned for using an aimbot.
Was Jarvis using an aimbot to gain an advantage in competitive Fortnite? No. He was using it on an alt account to create funny videos in Solos and in playgrounds.
Epic has a zero-tolerance policy for cheating, though, and banned Jarvis on all of his accounts for using the aimbot.
Jarvis, who has nearly two-million subscribers on YouTube, released a heartfelt video announcing his ban. He fought through tears as he apologized for cheating – admitting that he was only thinking about creating funny content for his viewers.
This ban puts Epic in a sticky situation. Other professional Fortnite players have received two-week bans for cheating in million-dollar tournaments, while Jarvis received a permanent ban for cheating in public games.
Of course, these other players used kill-feeding to cheat rather than an aimbot. The inclusion of hacks likely makes the Jarvis situation a bit different.
The bulk of the Fortnite community seems to be rallying behind Jarvis. Some say that his ban is warranted, however, because he did hack the game. Other players have been perma-banned for the same thing.
What do you think about the ban? Was it fair or did Epic go too far? Let us know in the comments.
