Champion of the Fortnite World Cup solo tournament, Kyle ‘Bugha’ Giersdorf, has been given a special shout out from Epic Games, with a trophy placed at his winning landing spot.

Bugha beat out 100 other competitors at the $30 million tournament in New York City on July 28, finishing top of the pile in an event which around 40 million people attempted to qualify for.

Lucky Landing proved to be just that for Bugha at the world cup, as it was the landing spot that saw him stroll to victory – almost doubling the score of runner-up Harrison ‘Psalm’ Chang.

Now located in the center of Luck Landing is Bugha’s very own trophy, with his name inscribed, added in the v10.10 update, via FNBRLeaks.

Since his big win, things have been on the up for Bugha – he is already by far the fastest growing streamer on Twitch, quickly on his way to hitting the 1 million follower mark.

The attention hasn’t all been positive though, as his growing fame has also made him a target for trolls, with one going too far and ‘Swatting’ Giersdorf, resulting in armed police arriving at his door.

Epic Games might have provided a $3 million payday for Bugha, but it hasn’t stopped him being critical of the game too, adding his voice to the growing complaints about the BRUTE mechs.

His very own trophy on the map is a nice touch from Epic though, and one he’s sure to appreciate.
