Epic Games has released a new patch for Fortnite on April 12. The patch fixes several bugs and glitches that have cropped up in the v8.30 update.

Epic Games releases patches for Fortnite almost every single day at this point. Another one has arrived on April 12 with several important bug fixes for Fortnite.

The fixes come in response to reports of annoying bugs that popped with the v8.30 update. Such bugs are common occurrences in the game and need to be rooted out quickly. Thankfully, Epic is quick on the trigger.

Patch v8.30.2 Bug Fixes

Epic Games informed the community of the new patch in a tweet early on Friday, April 12th. They briefly mentioned that the update would include bug fixes for issues that have recently been bugging players in gameplay.

Epic also released a full write-up of the patch notes for the small update. They delivered this in the usual method on their own blog on the Fortnite official website.

The patch includes some important notes like making Traps more visible by removing their ability to meld into certain materials. Matchmaking errors have also gotten a pass to ensure invites work properly for all players.

We released the v8.30.2 client update today, April 12 at 6AM ET(1000 UTC) to fix some issues that appeared after releasing the v8.30 update. You can find full details below on all the fixes included in this client update.

Battle Royale

  • Fixed an issue that was causing matchmaking errors when attempting to join a party without a direct invite from the party leader.
  • Fixed an issue where players would not respawn at the Reboot Van if it was being used by two players at the same time and one player stopped interacting with it during the channel time.

Creative

  • Fixed an issue where players were unable to jump if they joined a game in progress and there were spawn pads in the game.
  • Fixed an issue where players were not invulnerable to damage immediately after respawning.

All Game Modes

  • Fixed an issue where traps could appear inside of surfaces, making them difficult to see.
  • Fixed an issue where the friend list was not sorting properly. Friends playing Fortnite now appear at the top of the list.
  • Made various stability fixes/improvements.

The stability improvements should prove to be very important leading into the Fortnite World Cup opening event on Saturday, April 13th.

The game has been experiencing difficulties in high player number end-games, but the last few patches have proved quite effective in raising frame-rates for most PC players. Hitching on consoles has been significantly reduced though not completely solved.
