Epic Games has provided an update regarding the Glider Redeploy test in Fortnite Battle Royale.
After lots of feedback both negative and positive, Epic has decided to end the Glider Redeploy test. Check out all the details below.
It will remain in the larger team modes (e.g. Soaring 50s, Disco Domination etc.) and Playground to allow ongoing experimentation with this feature. We really appreciate all of the engaged discussion and encourage you to keep the feedback coming! Many players feel that this change had a very negative impact on the game’s meta and play-style as it encouraged players to carelessly build to high ground as there was need worry of fall damage due to build height.
Another downside is that Glider Redeploy significantly impacted the pace of the game. For example, when downing a player from distance in Duos or Squads, their team has very little time to get the player revived before the enemies have built and glided over.
