This Fortnite Helicopter exploit lets you send the vehicle flying while you shoot from the side.
The Fortnite community was worried when they heard that Helicopters were coming to the game. Players were having flashbacks to the days of the X-4 Stormwing.
When the vehicle released, however, we were all happy to find that Helicopters were one of the most balanced vehicles that Fortnite has introduced. They seat a squad, there are no weapons, and you can’t re-deploy when jumping out.
The Helicopters are, truly, a mobility-only tool. They aren’t in competitive modes yet, but these players are largely asking for the vehicle.
That’s not to say that the Helicopters aren’t without their tricks and player-friendly bugs. One Fortnite player found a way to put the Choppa on autopilot when playing a solo match.
All you have to do is throw a Proximity Mine on the chopper, jump in the driver’s seat, then switch to the side. The Helicopter will keep moving while you shoot from the side.
There are a few limitations to this trick. You can only drive the chopper in a straight line, so you’ll have to keep jumping in and out if you want to turn. Still, it’s a great way to shoot and drive when you’re in a solo match.
This feature is almost certainly an exploit, but it might not get patched too quickly. Epic has a lot on their plate in the way of bugs, so this one might fly under the radar for a bit (pun intended *smile*).
Make sure to try this out before it gets patched. Send us a clip of you autopiloting a kill and we might throw you a retweet!
