Fortnite Season 10’s gimmick has been introducing rift zones to locations that pretty much overhaul change the mechanics of the area and Epic Games finally responded to the player complaints about games ending in them.
With Retail Row featuring zombies, Tilted Town featuring “no breakin’, no buildin’,” and Greasy Grove with mandatory Taco Time, there’s actually not a whole lot left that’s normal on the map.
Players have been complaining about numerous endgame circles ending up in a rift zone which creates a difficult situation for everyone involved as the mechanics are completely different in them.
The sense of randomness results in a gameplay experience that can lead to a pretty clunky endgame.
Fortunately, that’s all coming to an end in a future update, as has been confirmed by an Epic Games developer.
With Fortnite update 10.31, sometime next week, the final circles will no longer end in rift zones.
This means if you’re not a fan of the ending circles being in these rift zones, you won’t have to worry about that anymore.
We can now cross a bunch of locations off the list of possible end spots so this might not necessarily be the best of changes since we’ll be seeing a lot of the same locations in endgame now.
Rift zones might end up picking up a ton of steam going forward as a whopping 12 locations have been leaked that might be coming into the game.
What we don’t know is if this means the locations will be introduced sometime before the end of Season 10 or at the beginning of Season 11. Perhaps they won’t even be added at all.
One thing’s for certain and that’s if those locations are all coming before the end of the season, we’re going to be seeing a lot of rift beacons and zones in the coming weeks.
