The Fortnite community began tweeting the #BringSiphonBack hashtag in a combined effort for Epic to bring back the siphon mechanic in Battle Royale.
The Siphon mechanic was removed back in April, with Epic publishing a post explaining their reason for the removal. Epic claimed that the Siphon mechanic created over-aggressive gameplay and frustrating experience for less-skilled players.
Almost four months later, the Fortnite community bought up the topic of having the mechanic return back to Battle Royale.
On September 9, FaZe Clan member Josue ‘Sway‘ posted on Twitter a simple #BringSiphonBack hashtag and asked for his community to make it trending.

Within one hour the hashtag was trending with dozens of tweets supporting the hashtag being posted every minute. Even Daniel ‘Keemstar’ Keem retweeted Sway’s tweet as a sign of support.
As of writing, Sway’s post has 4,800 likes, 1,100 retweets, and 450 comments. Most of the comments within the thread support the movement, and think Siphon would help counter players in BRUTE mechs.
Even though BRUTEs have had an upgrade to include an audible and visual alert system and a nerf, players are still extremely upset with the weaponized mechs being included in all Battle Royale modes.
It remains to be seen if Epic will listen to the community’s feedback, or if they will continue on with their own strategy for Fortnite Battle Royale.
If you had a choice would you rather see BRUTE mechs be vaulted or the return of the Siphon mechanic in Fortnite Battle Royale?
