Fortnite Chapter 2 subplot: Pipeman is moving

One of the more underrated characters in Chapter 2, Pipeman, is on the move. But, where is he going?

One of the more underrated characters in Chapter 2, Pipeman, is on the move. But, where is he going?

The plotline of Fortnite Chapter 2 has been sporadic and difficult to follow. We got dropped into this island last October, without much backstory as to exactly what put us here.

Sure, we know the basics about The Visitor, the rocket, and the Zero Point, but a lot of the supporting details are theories. In Chapter 2, we have even less concrete information as Ghost and Shadow battle it out for our allegiance.

There have been a few breadcrumbs along the way. The recent Slurp Legends pack featured the Chaos Agent in the background of the teaser, for instance. He appears to be a central figure – whatever his intentions may be.

There is one piece of lore that’s going through some changes, however. Our old friend, Pipeman, has stood up from his mountaintop spot and started walking.

Pipeman made it quite a distance from his original spot. You can now find him by the hut underneath the small mountain covered in snow. He still has his chest with him, but where is he going?

One Redditor suggested that he could be heading to greener pastures; more specifically, the pipe-filled area near Slurpy Swamp.

Another suggestion is that he’s preparing for a battle with Hayman, who remains standing at his original location near Frenzy Farm. Could we be getting another world-ending battle as we saw in Chapter 1?

This is a bit of a gag, but it would be hilarious if that ended up being the case. For now, we can only keep tabs on our old buddy and see where he ends up. This is one of the lesser-known subplots of Chapter 2, and it will be fun to see how it unfolds.

Fortnite fans spot unreleased pickaxes in Wolverine trailer

Fans noticed two unreleased pickaxes in Wolverine’s Fortnite trailer. These should be coming soon.

Wolverine fortnite

As many players already know, Wolverine made his official entrance to Fortnite today, October 1. He’s been an in-game boss for the last week, but his skin is now unlockable through the in-game challenges.

Epic announced Wolverine’s availability with a trailer, as you might expect. As we’ve seen with trailers in the past, however, Wolverine’s announcement included a couple of unreleased items.

Fans were quick to notice a dual-wield katana pickaxe that hasn’t made it into the game. At first glance, it looks a bit like a dual-wield version of Blade’s pickaxe, which was recently released.

Fans didn’t seem to notice the baseball bat that Guff was holding. We have Harley Quinn’s baseball bat, but this one is noticeably different. Is there a chance that we get a one-handed baseball bat in the future?

Of course, there’s a chance that these are only concepts that Epic created for the trailer. More likely, they’re assets that Epic will be bringing to the Item Shop in the coming weeks. We’ll be keeping an eye out for you.

Cented offers Fortnite coaching with 50% charity split

Fortnite pro for Team Liquid, Evan “Cented” Barron, has announced that he’s offering his services as a coach.

Published

On September 30, ahead of the upcoming Season 4 Fortnite Champion Series, Team Liquid’s Evan “Cented” Barron announced that he would be offering his services as a coach for competitive Fortnite players.

The Fortnite pro released a TwitLonger, advertising his services to ten up-and-coming Fortnite players who want to learn more about general Fortnite gameplay and, specifically, in-game leadership.

The role of an in-game leader (IGL) is a necessary one on any pro team, especially in a Battle Royale like Fortnite. With so many possibilities and ideas jumping around, teams need one person to follow. An IGL has the final word on any decision in a given game. It’s the most important role on a team and is the most difficult to master.

For now, as we mentioned, Cented will only be offering his services to ten competitive players – presumably meaning he’ll be working with up to ten teams. His stated benefits include VoD reviews, drop spots and rotational breakdown, and defining roles within a given team.

The sessions cost $100 with a minimum of one hour, but Cented has pledged to donate half of his coaching earnings to “Black Lives Matter associated charities.”

Cented wrote in his TwitLonger that he isn’t “looking for attention or recognition by adding this, but I believe that by sharing this it would encourage you to do the same. Echoing Team Liquid’s official statement on BLM: Black lives matter. We all deserve the right to live peacefully and without fear in our own skin.”

Now that Cented has thrown his hat in the coaching ring, it will be interesting to see if any unknown or under-known teams and players make it into the FNCS Finals on the back of Cented’s influence. He’s an experienced and knowledgeable IGL in Fortnite. Let’s see if his practical knowledge transfers over to the coaching side.

Cented is far from the only high-level Fortnite pro who is turning to coaching. In the end, it could be a benefit to his own gameplay, as well as others who take up coaching. As the famous Joseph Joubert quote tells us, “To teach is to learn twice.”

How to unlock Wolverine in Fortnite Season 4 (all challenges)

Want to unlock Wolverine in Fortnite? Here’s how.

Published

on

Finally, after weeks of anticipation, Wolverine is an unlockable skin in Fortnite. We still have a couple of variants to unlock, but we can start with the base style today, October 1.

Of course, you’ll have to complete all of the available challenges for Wolverine to unlock his skin. Thankfully for you, we’ve already done all of the heavy lifting for you. Here’s a guide to each of the five weekly challenges that you need for the Fortnite Wolverine skin.

Investigate Mysterious Claw Marks

The first week of Fortnite Wolverine challenges had players searching Weeping Woods for “Mysterious Claw Marks.” Looking back, this should have been a significant clue as to where Wolverine would, eventually, wind up.

You can take a look at a detailed explanation of where to find these claw marks here, but you only need three of them. Here’s a general location of each on the Weeping Woods map.

Find loading screen picture at Quinjet Patrol site

The Fortnite Wolverine Week 2 challenge requires you to find loading screen picture at Quinjet Patrol site. If you’ve been playing Fortnite for most of the season, then this one shouldn’t be too hard to complete.

You can find the Quinjet sights around the map shortly after the bus takes off. They appear as white planes on the map, but you’ll be able to see where they’re landing from the blue smoke. The loading screen is inside the Quinjet.

This challenge can be a tad tricky, as landing in these sights without a weapon can mean death by Stark Robots. Landing late, on the other hand, could mean that someone has already cleared out the area and, potentially, destroyed the ship.

Find Wolverine’s trophy

Wolverine’s trophy is a Sentinal head that he, apparently, hid in Dirty Docks. You can find it in the building to the south of the giant crane.

The sentinel head can be found on the ground level, on one of the shelves behind some barrels. Take a closer look at the location here.

Locate a Transport Truck

All things considered, finding the Transport Truck is probably the easiest Fortnite Wolverine challenge of the bunch. It’s been in the game since before the first Season 4 update, so you’ve probably seen it in your travels.

You can find the truck in the northwest portion of the map – near the lighthouse. Fly to the area and land at the raised circle on the map. It’s hard to miss but you can find a more detailed guide here.

Defeat Wolverine

This is the most difficult stage of the Fortnite Wolverine challenges and there isn’t too much we can do to make it easier.

Wolverine spawns in Weeping Woods but that only gives you a place to start looking. He’s fast and can make his way to the Slurpy Swamp area rather quickly. On top of that, a large portion of the lobby will be looking for him, now, and you won’t know whether or not someone already killed him until you see the claws.

This video from Tabor Hill gives some useful tips, but it isn’t foolproof. The best advice we have is to use a helicopter and turn on “visual sounds” so you can see footsteps on your screen. Fly over Weeping Woods and see if you can find Wolverine walking, below.

Hopefully, your search for Wolverine doesn’t take too long. At least, with the help of this guide, you should be able to complete the rest of the challenges with relative ease. Good luck!
