Fortnite Chapter 2 is almost here, and the leaks have already started. Take a look at what to expect.

Fortnite Chapter 2 is nearly here, and the community is eagerly awaiting what the next phase of Fortnite will bring us.

So far, we know quite a few things from the briefly-leaked Battle Pass trailer. Here’s what we know so far:

  • New map
  • Swimming mechanics
  • New chest designs
  • Environmental explosions
  • Boats to traverse water
  • Ability to pick up downed teammates
  • New items and weapons
  • The ability to hide in a dumpster
  • Fishing and pogo emotes
  • New skins – obviously

I’m sure we missed a few things, but that’s what we know from watching the trailer. Outlets that posted the trailer were receiving copyright claims on social media and were forced to remove the clips. Epic is clearly keeping Chapter 2 close to the vest.

More recently, the map for Fortnite Chapter 2 has been leaked.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Map

This map has been circulating for a while, but it was stunted by someone who was claiming that they created the concept. Now that we’re closer to the release, though, more leakers are running with it as the real deal.

Of course, we don’t know whether or not the leaked map is real. Major data miners in the Fortnite community seem convinced, though, so we’ll defer to their judgment on this one.

Some new leaks also include a Bazooka Bandaid that shoots heals to your teammates along with a new editing system. you can see one of the new skins holding it in the image above.

Popular data miner Hypex has also announced a new shotgun and new AR in addition to the Bandage Launcher. Based on these images, it also looks like the Rocket Launcher got a visual rework at the very least.

Competitive Fortnite players have been asking for an FOV slider ever since Epic removed stretched resolution. A lot of Fortnite fans are pointing to the leaked trailer as evidence of a higher FOV. This is far from confirmed, but it’s worth getting excited about for the inevitable disappointment.

Hypex has an anonymous source that appears to have been accurate thus far. He’s currently reporting a new mechanic that will allow you to trade-in materials to upgrade your weapons.

So, we’ll be getting a new map and, in a lot of ways, a whole new game. Let us know what we missed in the comments!
