Thanks to a video posted to the FortniteBR subreddit, players have discovered that they can heal their vehicles with campfires.

On July 17 the latest Fortnite patch, v9.40, was released which included an upgraded Tactical Shotgun, the completion of the Pressure Plant robot, and more.

On patch release day, Redditor 420_Flo posted a video showing in-game footage of a brand new healing technique which might be the move to save their means of transport from destruction.

The video begins by showing the player standing near a Baller with 106 out of 150 health near the dilapidated house outside of Dusty Divot.

Just a quick reminder: You can heal your baller with a campfire! from r/FortNiteBR

Once they light the campfire next to the Baller, the vehicle’s health begins to rise by two health per second.

According to the poster, this was added in the v9.40 patch and is a new mechanic.

With the World Cup taking place next weekend from July 26 to July 28, this strategy could be used by competitors.

Quadcrashers are often used as a quick and safe way to rotate around the map while providing minimal protection. On the other hand, Ballers provide the most protection as players are literally in a ball that has 150 health and provides 360 degrees of protection.

Top competitors like Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney can be seen streaming and practicing rotating with the Baller, so it is possible that this uncovered healing strategy could switch up the meta.

It remains to be seen if Epic will remove the healing mechanic from campfires so that they will no longer affect vehicles.

Until a change happens from a patch or update, light up all the campfires and heal on!
