The patch will be live tomorrow, September 6 after downtime begins at 4AM ET – confirmed by the Fortnite account.

The Epic Games development team has announced that their High Stakes event will be delayed for at least 24 hours.
The Tweet released on Tuesday, September 4 claimed that controller issues found with the new event are the reason for the delay. As a result, the entire update V5.4.0 will also be delayed until Wednesday.
Due to the discovery of a critical controller issue, we’ll be moving the release of v5.40 and High Stakes to Thursday September 6.

‘High Stakes’ was first revealed by Epic Games during PAX West, and is set to feature a new game mode, outfits, challenges, and much more.
Alongside the new mode, a new equipment weapon was to be launched. The Grappler will allow players to shoot and zoom across the map to whatever they can hit.
Leaks on the Grappler have confirmed that there will be 15 shots available for it simply stops working.
The new cosmetics involved in the High Stakes event have also been quite the point of interest, with customizable faces one of it the main talking points.
