We’ve finally made it! Fortbyte 38 marks the final, 100th challenge to arrive in Fortnite’s Season 9. Jump into your Vendetta outfit and head to the northernmost Sky Platform.
If you’ve been collecting and completing Fortbytes as they’ve come out, July 17 marks a special occasion. The 100th Fortbyte has finally arrived in the form of number 38. With it’s completion, you can unlock the full decrypted image.

While the end of any era is bittersweet, we’re sure Epic has something similar planned for Season 10. Daily challenges give us a reason to get on daily apart from our urge to get a few Victory Royales.
Fortnite Fortbyte 38 Location – Sky Platform
As with many other Fortbyte challenges, you’ll need to unlock a Season 9 Battle Pass item in order to complete 38. The item in question is the Vendetta outfit unlocked at Tier 100. If you haven’t arrived at Tier 100 yet, you’ll want to head to our Season 9 challenge article for guides on how to get there quickly.
The northernmost Sky Platform is located to the southwest of Lazy Lagoon.
To help you get done with the challenge as fast as possible, we’ve put the process into a step-by-step guide:
- Reach Tier 100 of the Season 9 Battle Pass
- Equip the Vendetta outfit
- Hop into any Core BR mode or Team Rumble
- Jump from Battle Bus near Lazy Lagoon
- Glide to the Sky Platform marked on the map
- Enter the top room of the Sky Platform
- Pick up Fortbyte 38
There’s no much loot to go around up on the Sky Platforms, so you’ll want to quickly grab the Fortbyte and fly out of there. Team Rumble is our suggested mode as it offers the least resistance from enemies.
We’ve also gone ahead and captured a short clip of video showing you where Fortbyte 38 is in-game.
After you’re done, you might have unlocked the full encrypted image in the Fortnite menus. It depicts Bunker Jonesy drawing out the events of the upcoming Monster vs. Mech season end event.
For those that have not completed all other previous challenges, we’ve got you covered. Head over to the complete list of Fortbyte challenges which includes guides for everything you’ll need. Some of the tasks requires you to get a certain amount of XP which will come over time from Battle Pass challenges and play time (survival time makes up a majority of XP in Fortnite).
You’ll also be able to earn your way to Battle Pass completion via the upcoming Overtime and 2nd Birthday challenges.
Now that all Fortbytes have released, what’s your overall opinion of this Season 9 feature? We think the feature definitely could use some improvements in terms of variety, but we’re satisfied with a little something extra that rewards us for the long-haul grind.
When Fortnite Season 9 starts and Chapter 2 Season 8 ends
Here is when Fortnite Season 8 ends and Chapter 2 Season 9 starts. The season is off to a wild start, and it’s only going to get crazier.
Fortnite Season 8 just started, but it might not be your cup of tea. Here is when Fortnite Season 8 ends and Season 9 starts.
Fortnite Season 7 was out of this world in the most literal sense. But Fortnite Season 8 is even wilder. From a map filled with cubes to mysterious alternate realities, it’s already surpassed Season 7 on the crazy scale.
But that doesn’t mean Season 8 is for everyone. Some players are already asking when Fortnite Season 8 ends and season 9 starts. This article will answer both those questions and more!
Whether you love or hate the new season, you might be wondering when the next one will start.
When Does Fortnite Season 8 End?
Fortnite Season 8 will end on December 5, 2021. This will allow Fortnite Season 9 to start just in time for the annual Holiday event. However, a recent hotfix removed the v18.50 from the update schedule, so Fortnite Season 8 could end earlier than expected.
Since Fortnite is reaching a climactic point in its overarching storyline, players can expect an end-of-season event. Fortnite Season 7 featured an interactive experience, and a similar event will likely be held at the end of Season 8.
When Does Fortnite Season 9 Start?
Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 9 will start on December 6, 2021. Keeping with the recent trend, Fortnite Seasons start the day after the current season ends. It wouldn’t make sense for Epic Games to delay the start of Season 9 past December 6th.
Fortnite has made a habit recently of jumping from one season to the next with no breaks in between. There will likely be some downtime between Season 8 and 9, and it could be as long as 13 hours like the end of Season 7.
Is There a Fortnite Season 8 Live Event?
As of right now, we don’t know. We likely won’t know anything about a live event until close to the end of Fortnite Season 8. However, we will keep this article updated with the latest information.
What Season is Fortnite on?
Fortnite is currently in Chapter 2 Season 8. This is the eighth season of the second chapter which started after Chapter 1 Season 10. While most players refer to this season as “Season 8”, it’s technically Season 18.
As well, the Fortnite Crew Pack is starting a storyline connected to Midas that will span the next three months. This is the same time frame that Fortnite Season 8 will take place. This means the new Fortnite season could be related to another one of Midas’ plans.

Fabio Sparklemane’s horrifying Fortnite lore explained
Fabio Sparklemane from Fortnite Season 8 has some pretty horrifying lore. Here’s everything we know about the cursed unicorn man,
Fortnite Season 8’s Battle Pass features a fabulous unicorn named Fabio Sparklemane whose lore is pretty terrifying.
Fortnite is no stranger to interesting character concepts. Some characters are interesting because of their backstory, while others are just a sight to behold.
You have characters like Peely who are just a piece of sentient food. Or Fishstick and Doggo who are anthropomorphic animals. And you can forget Jellie or Ripley who are living piles of goo.
Fabio Sparklemane is the latest in Fortnite’s animal-turned-human line of skins. He’s a magical unicorn who doubles as the mascot for sugary cereal. However, Fabio Sparklemane’s lore is actually quite horrifying.
Fabio Sparklemane Lore Explained
Fabio’s exuberant appearance and personality are a facade. Underneath his rainbow exterior lies some horrifying lore. That’s because a cereal-based curse plagues Fabio Sparklemane.
The curse is made evident the first time players interact with the Fabio Sparklemane NPC. Fabio’s very first line of dialogue is “HIYA!! ANY IDEA HOW TO BREAK CEREAL-BASED CURSES???”
Players can learn even more about the official mascot of Unicorn Flakes by reading his bio. His bio reads “Fabio Sparklemane is cursed to roam the Island shooting cereal from his hooves until the sun turns to ash in the sky.”
Fabio Sparklemane’s Emote
Players can find even more evidence of Fabio’s curse by investigating his cosmetics. The built-in Flake Shakee emote makes Fabio eat cereal and do an Irish jig. However, the emote’s description reveals the sinister meaning behind the dance.
The Flake Shake emote description reads, “He’s actually in horrible agony.”
Fabio Sparklemane’s Sinister Theme Song
Players can also unlock the Flake That lobby track through the Season 8 Battle Pass. At first, the theme song sounds like any other breakfast cereal diddy. However, the lyrics and death metal switch up reveals even more about Fabio’s curse.

Listeners will hear Fabio scream in agony while asking for help. “Flake That” also features dark lyrics such as “The hoof is a curse that must be obeyed. You never escape what the rainbow has made.” And it also references some sort of cereal-powered monster.
What is going on with Fabio Sparklemane
So, what does all of this mean? There are a lot of theories flying around the web. Some players believe that Fabio will somehow wake a monster that ends Season 8. Others believe the “curse” is just a marketing stunt.
What we believe is that Fabio Sparklemane is a man trapped inside a unicorn’s body. One of Fabio’s dialogue lines supports this theory. If a player talks to the NPC dressed as Fabio, he will say “OH NO!! THEY GOT YOU TOO?!?”
But what do you think of our theory? Do you think Fabio is a cursed horse-man hybrid who will wake a demonic creature, or do you have your own theory? Let us know by sending us a tweet to @FortniteINTEL on Twitter.

Why Fortnite Sideways Anomalies are insanely overpowered
The new Sideways Anomalies in Fortnite Season 8 are ridiculously overpowered. Here is how players can use them to their advantage.
The new Sideways Anomalies introduced at the start of Fortnite Season 8 are ridiculously overpowered. Here’s why you need to be visiting these anomalies.
Fortnite Season 8 is off to a weird start. Where the past few seasons had themes that were easy to understand, Season 8 is a black swan.
With Cubed being the Season 8 title theme, a bunch of Kevin Cubes have popped up all over the map. Like in Chapter 1, these cubes roll around the map leaving destruction in their wake. But there’s even more to this season’s madness.
Epic Games also threw in the new Sideways biomes. These are zit-lit bubbles that appear on the map that are infested with dangerous creatures. However, the Sideways Anomalies are smaller biomes that are game-changing additions to Fortnite.
What are Sideways Anomalies in Fortnite?
There are two ways players can enter The Sideways in Fortnite Season 8. The first and most popular is via The Sideways biome that appears on one of the POIs at the start of every match. These biomes do not disappear, and they are heavily populated by players and monsters.
However, The Sideways biomes are not as accessible or rewarding as the Sideways Anomalies. Sideways Anomalies appear as purple rift-like markers on the map, and there are three on the map at all times.
When approached, the rifts will expand and create a smaller Sideways biome. Cube Monsters will begin to spawn, and players will be able to spend a small amount of time inside the anomaly before it closes. Once the Sideways Anomaly closes, another one will appear on the map.
Why Sideways Anomalies overpowered
Aside from the larger Sideways biome, players tend to ignore the Fortnite Sideways Anomalies. However, players should visit every Sideways Anomaly they can. Here’s a list of reasons players should visit the Sideways Anomalies.
- Siphon health from Cube Monster eliminations
- Easily get max ammo from Cube Monsters
- Easy way to get Mythic Sideways Weapons
Every time a player kills a Cube Monster, they will gain health and shield. And since the Cube Monsters are easy to kill, players can get full health and shield super quickly. As well, Cube Monsters drop a lot of ammo when eliminated.
Players can also get overpowered Mythic Sideways weapons after visiting 1 or 2 Sideways Anomalies. But what makes these so overpowered is the small number of players that visit them.
Yes, you can get all of these benefits from the large Sideways biomes, but it’s unlikely that you’ll encounter an opponent at Fortnite Sideways Anomalies. Having a biome all to yourself takes the edge off of getting geared up.
Are you a fan of the new Sideways biomes, and have you tried the Sideways Weapons yet? Let us know your thoughts on our FortniteINTEL Twitter page.
