We passed up the first update of Season X without a change to the mechs and now streamers are taking their complaints into their own hands.

Whether you generally agree with streamers or you always disagree, the fact remains that streamers opinions matter.

They are often the voice of the community and when they all come together that carries a lot of weight.

The most recent crusade is against the overpowered mechs. There’s no point in laying out why they are overpowered at this point, they are clearly the strongest individual item, vehicle or weapon in Fortnite and it isn’t close.

That is bad for competitive balance and streamers are taking aim. They all coordinated to tweet the same thing: “I’ve died to a Mech every game today.”

Lupo even took it a step further and moved over to another game for his stream last night.

These are all reactions from before the Epic Games update which doubled down on not nerfing the BRUTE. That really pushed it into next level territory. Here are some of the immediate reactions from that:

It’s pretty unbelievable that Epic didn’t learn at all from many of their past issues with overpowered weapons and vehicles. The Infinity Blade had to be vaulted within a week, the planes and ballers had to be nerfed a bunch of times each.

Then they just turn around and add the most overpowered weapon/vehicle of them all. It really just doesn’t make much sense.

Who knows where we go from here but this is one of the most outraged I have ever seen the Fortnite community. What do you think comes next?

  1. Poor streamers they’re upset about something in the game. Get over it, eventually epic will nerf it or something so just chill.

    • Well, it’s their full time job, so doing that every single day for a living must be tiring. They just get a new game, they like it, they enjoy it, and then they play it just because they need to. Most of the streamers really don’t enjoy playing videogames (or at least the game they’ve been stuck to for a long time) because they keep doing the same thing, to a point where it gets boring.

      • Oh fuck off. ” Majority” yeah right. The majority are the casuals. The minority are the streamers and people on social media. Fuck the streamers. Mechs are fun. They’re not even hard to battle, if you’re smart enough. This game needs to continuously be fresh and this is a step in the right direction.

            This kid thinks he is better and smarter than all the pro players, if they can’t handle the BRUTE, the casuals definitly can’t. If you find “mechs are Fun” it means that you are not playing against them but with them, meaning you are the actual bot that rushes BRUTE each game hoping youll get at least 1 kill, and if your saying that”they are not realy hard to battle with” means that you got outplayed a lot when you play them because you suck anyways.

        • @ty Alex, the mech is defenitely a step to the wrong direction. Just think about it..Fortnite is fun because of the building concept. If you want to defend yourself, it’s possible by building. With these mechs/terminators you ain’t capable of defensing yourself. It’s like a footballgame with big boys playing against kids. This is totally unfair. I don’t think you play the game as much as most fortnite-gamers do. I suppose you’re a huge bot and thats why you like it, otherwise you die quick without getting any kills, thats why it is fun for you. So just stop pretending like it is fun, because most of the fortnite community don’t like these thing as mechs/boomboxes/tnt’s/mounted turrets/airplanes. Theyre waaaayy too overpowered.

      • There was a hacker in our game that stopped all Brutes and supply drops from landing and used aimbot got 9 kills and got struck by the ban hammer

  6. Personally I don’t care. It’s EPICs game, either adapt and try to counter like I do. If I die, I die. Start another game.

    I tend to get the BRUTE just to farm all 3 materials quietly and 80 percent of the time I can do it, then I self destruct it while I run like a little bitch lol

    • I will say I have found myself having less fun with this update. I’m a team rumble sniper kind of guy, and been getting my ass kicked lately.

      Even some of the shotguns are failing me. Feel like there’s a bit of a wonky balance going on.
