Epic Games has issued another statement regarding the complains surrounding false advertising on the Xbox One S Fortnite Bundle.
Fortnite fans who purchased the Xbox One S Fortnite Bundle were provided a text pamphlet that had a download code to unlock the ‘full game’.
The code was only for a free download of Fortnite Battle Royale, which is already free to play, and not The Save The World mode which does require a purchase.
One post on the Xbox One subreddit gained traction as users began to complain that the bundles were “falsely advertised”.
You can check out the included pamphlet below:
Epic Games initially responded to fan’s complains with a post on December 27, 2018, saying that “We [Epic Games] agree that the messaging on the Xbox One S Fortnite Bundle was unclear and so will be granting free access to Save The World for those who purchased the bundle.”
On January 8, Epic issued another statement on Reddit saying that they will be giving players access to Save The World for free, or if they have the mode already then players who purchased the Xbox One S Fortnite Bundle will be receiving 2,000 V-Bucks.
Epic will begin rolling out the apology rewards to players with the release of v7.20 and will take several hours to complete so players should remain patient.
