Epic secretly removes Slurp Truck spawn locations from Fortnite

One of the unannounced changes in the Fortnite v12.20 update was the removal of several Slurp Truck spawns from the game.

One of the unannounced changes in the Fortnite v12.20 update was the removal of several Slurp Truck spawns from the game.

The lack of Fortnite patch notes continues to be a headache for anyone who takes the game seriously. We don’t know what changes are being made to fix short-term issues and which are intended problems.

A perfect example of this is the Harpoon Gun. In v12.20, players began to notice that the Harpoon didn’t snag floor loot the way it used to. The lack of patch notes forced players to investigate in order to find out that it is, indeed, a bug – rather than an intended change.

The same is now true for Slurp Trucks. After v12.20, players noticed that some of their go-to shield locations had been removed from the game.

The Slurp Trucks near Mount Kay, Slurpy Swamp, and the bridge to the East of Pleasant Park have all been taken out of Fortnite with no warning from Epic Games.

Now, the only Slurp Trucks can be found on the bridge north of Salty Springs, west of Sweaty Sands, northeast of Lazy Lake, and outside of Steamy Stacks.

The real problem with this removal is the fact that Slurp Trucks were experiencing bugs ahead of the patch. PC players were seeing a Slurp Truck where there was none, leading to a ton of confusion.

As of now, we don’t know if Epic removed these Slurp Trucks because they were experiencing issues, or if they’re gone for good. A line in the Fortnite patch notes would’ve cleared all of this up.

As always, the community is still working through the many unannounced changes in the most recent patch. Hopefully, this was the biggest news that slipped under the radar.

This concept brings grilling to Fortnite in time for summer

This thematic addition to Fortnite Season 3 is perfect for Summer Splash.

Fortnite Season 3 has put a new emphasis on food. Vegetable boxes spawn all across the map while players farm for cabbage and corn as a new way to heal. Most players are fans of this change. The more healing items in the game, the better.

Why stop there? Why not allow us to cook our food for additional HP? Well, one Fortnite player made a concept that allows us to do just that. Reddit user u/MapleSmoothie created a Hot Dog concept. You can find them in fridges and eat them raw, or grill them for greater healing power.

This concept, as its creator points out, would be a perfect addition to the Summer Splash event. Grilling and summertime go hand in hand, and Epic even have an existing emote to correspond with the mechanic.

We don’t need to stop with hot dogs, either. Epic could allow us to grill corn and add other meats like burgers and sausages. Some of them could even grant shields, allowing you to carry some food versions of Minis and Big Pots.

It’s probably too late for Epic to add this to Season 3. There’s a chance that we could see it next year, however. Epic have always welcomed community concepts with game mechanics and skins. This one would be a small, yet thematic addition that could bring a new element into the game.

How to get your hands on the Golden Mushroom in Fortnite

The Golden Mushroom in Fortnite Season 3 is nearly impossible to find in Battle Royale, but here’s how to get your hands on it.

Fortnite Season 3 has already brought us a few more toys in the patches following its release, with cars and another new shotgun on the horizon. One of the new additions to the game was a Golden Mushroom, which is a rare way to receive 100 shield.

According to data miner Hypex, there is a .001% chance of the mushroom spawning in a given location, which puts it on par with the Mythic Goldfish as one of the rarest items in Fortnite. Finding one of these in a Battle Royale match is going to be a true accomplishment, as intended.

It’s unclear whether or not this mushroom is available in the vegetable boxes around the map, but this would be the only way to get one. All of the natural mushroom spawns are underwater at the time of writing.

Those who are reading this after the water recedes will be able to find the Golden Mushroom in any of the locations that house regular mushrooms. Right now, however, it seems nearly impossible to find one in a real game.

If you’re dedicated to getting your hands on the Golden Mushroom, you can do it in Creative Mode. YouTuber and exploit extraordinaire, OrangeGuy, posted a video that shows you how to get the Golden Mushroom. You can use his map or go through the painstaking process of spawning hundreds of mushrooms in your own map.

The Golden Mushroom is going to be another Mythic Goldfish, so don’t expect to find it in a normal match. 99% of players haven’t found a Mythic Goldfish in three seasons, which was intentional on Epic’s part. If you’re fiending for a Mushroom, you can find it in Creative Mode.

Fortnite Season 3 Week 3 Challenge guide

The Fortnite Season 3 Week 2 challenges are here. Read on to find out how to complete them.

Fortnite Season 3 week 3 is here, and we’ve already been given a few more toys to play with. Most of us are still working our way through the Battle Pass, however, which means that we’re diligently completing all of the challenges put in front of us.

This week’s challenges are relatively straightforward. We don’t have to search around The Yacht for Deadpool floaties, at least. You’ll be able to finish these challenges by playing normally with a couple of Team Rumble matches mixed in. Here’s what we’re working with.

Fortnite Season 3 Week 3 Challenges:

  • Search Chests or Ammo Boxes at Misty Meadows (0/7)
  • Eliminations at The Authority (0/3)
  • Collect Floating Rings at Lazy lake (0/4)
  • Dance on top of the Crane at Rickety Rig (0/1)
  • Deal damage from inside a cornfield at Frenzy Farm (0/100)
  • Destroy cars within 60 seconds of landing at Retail Row from the Battle Bus (0/2)
  • Land a Choppa at the bottom of Steamy Stacks (0/1)
  • Deal damage to opponents at Catty Corner (0/200)

We have a few Team Rumble challenges on our hands this week. It’s hard to picture landing at Retail Row and starting to hammer cars in a real match. Collecting the rings at Lazy also seems like a job for Team Rumble. Let’s hope you get a bus on the southeast side of the map.

Some of these will require some real-game grinding, but it won’t be anything too difficult. You can land at Catty and Authority to get your eliminations, then use a chopper to fly to Steamy and land it. The rest of these are easy enough to complete.

We’ll keep you posted with a guide to the floating rings when the challenges go live – if necessary. They may be simple enough to find yourself, but we won’t know until 10 AM EST tomorrow. As always, we’ll have you covered with all of the latest Fortnite developments, so stay tuned for more Fortnite news.
