Epic Games vs. Apple trial date set for May 3, 2021

Epic Games and Apple are set to hit the courtroom on May 3, 2021.

Published

The battle between the tech giants of Epic Games and Apple wages on as a trial date has been set for May 3, 2021. The United States District Court of the Northern District of California is set to hear the arguments starting at 8:30 AM PST on that date.

The trial date comes after the most recent hearing between Epic and Apple, which had many onlookers suspecting that a jury trial would take place in July of 2021. Instead, the court scheduled a bench trial for the previous month.

Several pre-trial dates are expected to accompany the final May 3 date, so we could hear more news about how the court is leaning – although nothing will be set in stone until May 2021, at least.

With a date set, we now know the first time that we could hear concrete news as to whether or not iOS players will be able to play Fortnite. So far, the court hasn’t been too sympathetic to Epic’s case after the way they handled it.

Epic knowingly circumvented the conditions of the Google Play Store and App Store when they allowed players to buy V-Bucks directly from the source. The former company knew that Apple and Google would take action, and were prepared to retaliate with legislation. The judge presiding over the matter sees this and doesn’t appear to respect the move.

Unfortunately for iOS Fortnite players, this news means that we’re waiting another seven months for news on when the game will be available, again. Sony and Microsoft may end up being the real winners here, as displaced mobile players pick up their new consoles to play their favorite game.

How to get Spotify Premium for free with Fortnite Crew

Epic have announced a new promotion for Fortnite Crew members that includes three free months of Spotify Premium.

Fortnite April Crew Pack Alli

Fortnite Crew members will son be able to get three months of Spotify Premium for free. Here’s how.

A few weeks ago, Epic issued a survey to Fortnite Crew members, asking them about some upgrades that they may bring to the service. Among them was a partnership with other subscription services – similar to what they did with the Disney+ deal in Season 4.

It looks like this bonus got some strong support from those who took the survey, as Epic have already announced a new partnership with Spotify.

Starting on April 22, Fortnite Crew members will be able to listen to music and podcasts ad-free on Spotify with Spotify Premium.

Fortnite April Crew Pack

This promotion is set to run from April 22 to June 30, 2021. Anyone who subscribed to the Fortnite Crew pack through April 22 will gain access to the promotion.

This means that anyone who bought the Crew subscription on March 22 will be able to receive three months of Spotify Premium for free; even if they already canceled.

If you have already canceled your subscription, it could be worth picking back up again. The subscription costs $9.99 per month, so you’ll pay $11.99 for the Fortnite Crew benefits and three months of free Spotify.

We doubt that this will be the last promotion that Epic will host. We wouldn’t be surprised to see new subscription services like Peacock Premium, Paramount Plus, and others jump on the Fortnite bandwagon. Of course, if they do, we’ll be the first to let you know.

When does Fortnite Season 6 end and Season 7 begin? Will there be a Season 6 live event? Find out everything here.

Fortnite Season 6

Fortnite Season 6 is here, but fans are already wondering when Season 7 will begin. Here’s everything we know so far.

As has been the case for the past few seasons, Fortnite Season 6 feels like the most ambitious season in the history of Fortnite. Epic took the foundation (no pun intended) of Season 5 and added a host of new weapons, a crafting system, and a lot more.

It’s still relatively early, but fans are split as to whether or not Season 6 is an upgrade from Season 5. Pro players and casuals alike are still adjusting to the new meta, with the crafting system being the topic of heated debate. Some players love the ability to upgrade on the fly, while others would rather avoid the extra farming requirement.

Whether you love or hate the new season, you might be wondering when the next one will start.

Fortnite Season 7 start date

Fortnite Season 7 is scheduled to begin on June 8, 2021, which is exactly three months after the beginning of Season 6. Unlike Season 5, this is going to be a standard season – at least, it seems that way.

There’s always a chance that seasons get delayed and extended. We’ll update this article if the Fortnite Season 7 start date changes.

As for a live event to close Season 6, it’s too soon to tell. The plot is picking up lately, though, so we have to assume that Epic have something up their sleeve.

Interactive events have been the wave, recently, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see that happen before Season 7. We’ll update you when we know more.
