Epic Games & Loserfruit postpone her Fortnite Icon Series skin

Streamer, Loserfruit, has announced that she and Epic have decided to postpone the release of her Icon Series Fortnite skin.

The entire world is reeling in the wake of the protests and demonstrations surrounding the murder of George Floyd. There are, certainly, more important things going on than Fortnite, but that’s what we’re here to talk about.

Many fans are speculating that Epic will add a further delay to Season 3, following the announced delays of the PS5 new Call of Duty Season. Epic have yet to speak out on this topic, so we should expect the event to take place on June 6 until we hear otherwise.

One thing that has been delayed is the newest addition to the Fortnite Icon Series. Leaks pointed to a Loserfruit skin hitting the Item Shop this week. The streamer even posted a cryptic message on her Instagram story, signaling that the skin would be released on June 3.

Loserfruit logged onto her stream on June 3 and to update her fans and explain why her Icon Series skin wouldn’t be in the shop. “Me and Epic decided it wasn’t the right time to release the skin, this week,” she said.

“I think you guys know from leaks,” the streamer chuckled, “that it was meant to come out on the third. So we decided to wait.”

The delay is an understandable one for several reasons. Getting your own skin in a video game is a big deal, and Loserfruit would undoubtedly feel guilty for celebrating her accomplishments in a time like this. As we said, there are far more important things happening than anything related to Fortnite.

We can expect to see the skin hit the Item Shop within the next couple of weeks. We still have no news on whether or not Season 3 will be released as planned. We’ll keep you updated on all of these topics as more information comes out.

Epic Games vs. Apple feud spells the end for ‘Save the World’ on Mac

The Apple vs. Epic Games fallout has now forced Epic to scrap Fortnite: Save the World on Mac.

Users of Apple devices continue to be the casualty of the ongoing feud between the company and Epic Games, which has been brewing for the past month.

For those who aren’t aware of what’s been going on, you can take a look at a detailed synopsis here. In short, Epic have allowed players to purchase V-Bucks directly from them – bypassing the take of the Google Play Store and iOS App Store.

Apple and Google have both removed Fortnite from their stores, but Android devices allow the use of third-party launchers where Apple devices do not. The result is that Android users can still play the most recent version of Fortnite while iOS and Mac users can’t.

At first, most of the focus was on the Battle Royale side of things. Mobile players using iOS devices couldn’t get the Season 4 update, which means that they were stuck in the past. They would be forced to play Season 3 indefinitely.

On September 17, however, Epic announced that the feud with Apple has resulted in their inability to develop ‘Save the World’ on Mac. On September 23, 2020, Fortnite Save the World will no longer be playable on Mac.

In the accompanying blog post, the development team told players that, “Apple is preventing Epic from signing games and patches for distribution on Mac, which ends our ability to develop and offer Fortnite: Save the World for the platform. Specifically, our upcoming v14.20 release will cause bugs for players on v13.40, resulting in a very poor experience.”

The team decided to cut their losses and offer refunds to any Mac player who purchased Save the World on their device. The same is true for any V-Buck purchases they made. “There’s no action needed on your part to receive the refund and you will retain any previously purchased V-Bucks and items on your account.”

Of course, this only affects MacOS players and no one else. Anyone who previously played on MacOS can pick up where they left off on another platform, if they so choose. “Players will still be able to play Save the World on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, and thanks to cross-progression, your Heroes, Schematics and everything else in your Homebase will automatically transfer across supported platforms,” Epic wrote in a blog post.

You will still be able to play the Battle Royale version of Fortnite on MacOS, but won’t be receiving updates until this issue is resolved. Hopefully, that’s sooner rather than later. Unfortunately, it looks like Epic and Apple are preparing for a long battle in court. We’ll keep you posted as this story develops.

Fortnite Iron Man hero ability is sending players flying

Don’t use Crash Pads and the Iron Man laser with one another.

Fortnite Season 4 Marvel characters

The Superhero abilities in Fortnite have made season 4 stand out from the rest of the seasons in the chapter. To many, Season 4 is a return to form for Fortnite – prioritizing fun, interesting items instead of a stale loot pool.

These abilities aren’t without their issues, however. They’re relatively complex and are prone to bugs. We’ve already seen how Storm’s ability allows players to fly anywhere in the map. That bug is only plaguing Marvel Standoff, for now, but another issue with Iron Man’s ability is causing problems in core modes.

Using a Crash Pad at the same time as Iron Man’s laser will send you soaring high into the air. The bug appears to send you to the top of the map before plunging you back to the ground.

The player in the above clip was lucky enough to land over a river. If they hadn’t they would have died. Crash Pads prevent fall damage, but this bug negates that effect. Take a look at this player who also experienced the bug – which ended his life.

The issue is relatively specific and can be avoided if you don’t ever use these two items in combination with one another. Still, it causes issues for some people who are unaware of the glitch.

At the time of writing, this bug isn’t listed on the Fortnite Community Issues Trello Board, which means we likely won’t see a fix for another 2 weeks or more. For now, all we can recommend is that you stay away from Crash Pads while using Iron Man’s ability.

Fortnite leak points to 2020 birthday celebration event

Fortnite’s third birthday is coming up and new leaks suggest we’ll be celebrating with free cosmetics.

Fortnite Battle Royale released on all platforms on September 26, 2017. At the time, the game was little more than a free expansion of the base game: ‘Save the World.’ Epic were capitalizing on the Battle Royale craze that was fueled by games like PUBG and H1Z1.

To a lot of console players, Fortnite Battle Royale was the first BR game to be available to them. PUBG and H1Z1 were PC games at the time – with future console releases on the horizon. Fortnite, however, was free and playable to the biggest gaming market out there, helping to fuel its early success.

We’re almost three years removed from Fortnite’s initial release date and the game has come further than anyone could expect. It went from a niche Battle Royale game to one of the biggest titles of all time. Fortnite has become a cultural phenomenon like no other game before it.

Each year that passes, Epic Games commemorate the release of their most popular product with an in-game event. Most of the time, this includes a Battle Bus rework along with some free cosmetics that will only be available for a limited time. The first year gave us a back bling and the second year gave us a free skin and pickaxe.

As expected, Epic are planning something similar for Fortnite’s third birthday. This time, we’ll be able to unlock two weapon wraps to celebrate the season. According to data miner, FortniteFevers, the wrap is still in development. We should see the finished product in the next patch.

Usually, Epic offer us a few different cosmetics to unlock during the Birthday Event. We don’t expect them to limit us to two weapon wraps. Most of the time, we have several challenges to complete with corresponding rewards, so we’re predicting that these will only be two of them.

We’ll keep you posted when we learn more about the Fortnite 2020 Birthday event. We’re expecting a patch next week, which should give us more information with which to work.
