The Fortnite community has been disappointed to see that Epic hasn’t released patch notes for any update following Fortnite Chapter 2. One user took matters into his own hands and created his own Fortnite patch notes.
Fortnite Chapter 2 has been, by all accounts, a resounding success. Players are loving the current state of the game. A lot of people are falling back in love with Fortnite, again, and it’s wonderful to see.
There is an elephant in the room when it comes to player opinion, however. Epic has not released any Fortnite patch notes for Chapter 2 or any subsequent update.
This has left players wondering about several issues and balance changes. Hardcore players have been testing damage numbers, but things like coin flip wall retake are still up for debate.
Reddit user Tornorr took matters into his own hands and posted his version of the Fortnite patch notes to Reddit. It doesn’t include everything, but it covers most of the major changes made at the beginning of the season.
Fortnite Chapter 2 patch notes
Pistols got a significant buff with Fortnite Chapter 2, which most players have likely noticed on their own. Pistols are more balanced than they have ever been and make finding one early-game less of a death sentence.
There are a few small errors with this table. For instance, Tornorr used the Compact SMG as a basis for the Gold and Purple SMG. Epic only used the model and sounds for this weapon – it isn’t the P-90. The Blue pistol also does 25-26 damage, but these are small mistakes that would be avoided if we actually had patch notes from Epic.
The rest of the information is correct. The Pump got a significant nerf, but the Purple and Gold pumps can still one-shot if you hit a player in the head.
Rockets got nerfed but are now more available than ever. Snipers got a slight buff and the new map makes them more viable than they used to be – which is a buff in itself.
A sniper buff makes sense because of the lack of a Heavy Sniper as well. We don’t have a long-range weapon that does 150 to the body, anymore.
Hopefully, these posts won’t be necessary with future updates. Please, Epic, give us patch notes.
