A brand new limited-time mode has been added to Fortnite Chapter 2 – and it’s time for duos players to rejoice.
Since launching, Fortnite Chapter 2 hasn’t been as chock full with limited-time modes as the earlier Fortnite seasons. Fans have enjoyed game modes like Team Rumble, 50v50, and Food Fight in previous seasons on regular occasions, but the Chapter 2 shake-up means players are playing regular matches and Arena.
Solid Gold made a return as a recent LTM, but with it being a squad mode, you’re left in the cold if you’re a dedicated solo or duo fan. However, the latter of those will be able to celebrate as a new two-player mode is coming.
Popular Fortnite dataminer Lucas7Yoshi noted that the Siphon Duos LTM has been activated in the game’s files, including the classic image of a player being eliminated by an enemy who has gained health.
Like the classic Siphon mode, which was extremely popular with fans in earlier seasons, you have to kill enemies to gain both health and shield on your way to securing a victory royale.
While plenty of fans will jump right into the mode, others couldn’t help but voice their displeasure at not having a solo LTM yet.
“Fortnite really is getting boring the way they release modes, it’s like they don’t cater for solo players who want to have a little fun alone too,” commented FortniteBR subreddit user February-.
Just how long the duos limited-time mode will be around, remains to be seen, but it could very well be the place to be if you’re someone who adored Siphon previously.
Solo players who don’t want to go it alone against teams of two will just have to wait, and hope, that their prayers are answered in the near future and Epic Games deliver something for them.
