Fortnite’s bus driver is good at their job. They are always right on time and drive in a straight line. But what if they didn’t?
The straight line leads to a similar experience every time you hop in the bus. A bunch of people drop out immediately when the doors open and another batch drop at whatever the hot new location is at the time.
But what if the bud driver had a few too many pints at the pub and started taking some new routes?
This concept from 8bitmemes proposes some shapes the drivers route could take other than the straight line:
Concepts for Alternative Bus Routes (Rather than straight lines that favor center POIs) from r/FortNiteBR
If actually put into practice, how people jump may not actually change that much. Tilted will still see plenty of people and so will the first second the doors open.
But it would at least provide another level of thing to think about when figuring out a drop.
Right now, everybody who plays Fortnite has their favorite landing locations and often the choice of where to land is obvious based on the bus route.
Things like the soft-turn or squiggly paths would be interesting to see.
The U-Turn is the only one that doesn’t feel like it would work because there would be no real reason to hang out until it bended back, that would be getting a late start at looting.
This also may have had more of an impact on the game in the earlier days of Fortnite. Now that we have so many mobility options the drop spot you choose matters less than ever.
Still, it would be cool to see how changing something as simple as the path the bus takes changes a game. Maybe it would have no affect, but it could make some locations become more or less popular.
Is this something you want to see Fortnite adapt in a future update?
